The Diana Foundation kicked off its season of fundraising on Wednesday with the help of jazz, cocktails and a crowd.
The Jazz Happy Hour at F Bar is part of a build up to the main event, which is the 63rd Diana Awards on March 19. The black-tie gala will honor City Council member Ellen Cohen, a staunch LGBT ally. It's quite a thing.
Beneficiaries this year include AIDS Foundation Houston, Homeless Gay Kids–Houston, the Botts Collection University of Houston Endowment Fund, Lesbian Health Initiative and the LGBTQ Resource Center at the University of Houston.
The foundation, the oldest continuously active gay organization in the country, formed on March 19, 1953 as a viewing party for the first-ever Academy Awards aired on television.
The Happy Hours continue monthly on the first Wednesday at F Bar.
