Some 13 contestants battled through talent and gown competitions to take home crowns across three divisions on Thursday during the 22nd Annual Miss Gay Georgia USofA, At Large and Newcomer Pageants.
More than 400 people watched the competition unfold at Jungle, an event that sends its winners and first runner ups to the national Miss Gay USofA Pageant later this year. The Georgia pageants, which drew contestants from across the South, have a bit of the Midas touch: For the last two years, the winner of the national pageant has been from the Miss Gay Georgia competition.
The contestants in Miss Gay Georgia USofA Newcomer included Alissa Summers of Tampa and Atlantans Latavia St. James, Kyra Mora, the Lady Aria, Farrah Hall Frantz and Karma Delite. Frantz took a clean sweep, winning talent, gown and the title. Lady Aria was named runner up.
In the At Large division, contestants included Adrianna Fuentes of Lexington, Ky., Justice Taylor of Birmingham and Atlantans Tanisha Cassadine and Shavonna B. Brooks. Cassadine won gown, talent and the title, with Fuentes taking runner up.
The Miss Georgia division included Amy DeMilo from Tampa, Luscious from Charlotte and Atlantan Teajah Thomas. Luscious won gown, talent and the title, with DeMilo taking first runner up.
Entertainers throughout the evening included Miss Georgia USofA 2010 Dorae Saunders, Miss Gay Georgia USofA At Large Kewesi Alexandria St. James and Miss Gay Georgia USofA Newcomer Pandora. Also on hand were a trio of USofA national titleholders, including Dominique Sanchez, Tahjee Iman and Phalon Steele.
