Hundreds of people popped the corks of more than 100 varieties of wine and sampled food from scores of restaurants last Thursday to raise money for AIDS research.

The annual Uncork A Cure, in its 20th rendition, took advantage of a spacious Foundry At Puritan Mill in West Midtown to raise funds for the AIDS Research Consortium of Atlanta. ARCA works in collaboration with more than 50 doctors and five public health clinics to conduct clinical drug trials with the newest treatments as well as provide free, anonymous rapid HIV tests to thousands of local college students.

imageThe evening included a silent auction offering travel packages, jewelry, art, entertainment and sport tickets, and personal services.

Attendees also had the chance to sample Conjure, a cognac from actor, Grammy winner and Atlanta resident Ludacris.
