Coach busted for soliciting $20 sexy teen selfies

With $20 and a story about an ongoing bet, a volunteer high school basketball coach in metro Atlanta convinced teen males to send him sexually explicit selfies. Michael Brandon Clay now faces six charges.

Clay (photo) surrendered to police on Thursday after warrants were issued for his arrest on six counts of child exploitation. The Loganville Police Department turned a complaint about the requests from Clay over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Clay volunteered with the Loganville High School boys basketball program.

The GBI says that with the promise of $20 and a story about some kind of bet that Clay convinced at least three teens to send him the sexed up pics. He stalked them through social media. Clay apparently paid for at least some of the images.

“Three of those counts involve where children have actually sent pictures to Mr. Clay, and three were just [that] he had made solicitations for the photographs,” Lang said.

Clay's plot was apparently unearthed by a nosy mom.

“When she checked the Facebook account, she saw where the child had been contacted by Mr. Clay, and Mr. Clay had asked the child to send him some explicit pictures,” Lang said.

Gay man and sextortion of teens doesn't end well. Just ask Michael Macaluso, the former Marietta chiropractor now doing a 30-year stretch in federal prison. Gay sexting a teen probably isn't recommended, either. Especially if you're a cop.
