Chick-fil-A promotes its chief homophobe to CEO

With the old man on the way out, Chick-fil-A anointed his son to lead the company, the same business executive who embroiled the Atlanta company into a heaping helping of hurt with his anti-gay missteps.

Atlanta-based fast-food giant Chick-fil-A has named Dan Cathy its new chief executive officer and chairman, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has learned.

Cathy, who has been chief operating officer, replaces his father, Truett Cathy, the chain’s founder and chairman. Truett Cathy will remain at the company as chairman emeritus.

Dan Cathy’s promotion was announced Wednesday internally to company employees, but no formal ceremony or announcement is planned at this time, a company spokesman said.

That's the same Dan Cathy who professes that he is gay agnostic but then shames the U.S. Supreme Court for dumping DOMA. He jogs with the gays but hates those “arrogant” gay activists. And then just lies about whether the company's family institute in north Georgia allows gay couples.

So yeah, congrats.
