Chi Chi LaRue readies to porn storm Atlanta

Drag queen, super hot DJ and porn mogul. There’s not a whole lot Chi Chi LaRue can’t (and won’t) do. And this weekend, she and her sexy guys hit Atlanta for a double-header.

On Friday, she stops at BJ Roosters with porn star Landon Conrad. The next day, she helps christen the newly-expanded Brushstrokes sex store, Pleasures. (In July, LaRue returns for Marietta Pride.) She's no stranger to fans in Atlanta, after joining some jocks who dropped their jocks at Brushstrokes last year and working the Atlanta Pride parade. LaRue (top photo) is such a local hit that she stars in two of The Best Gay Things to do in Atlanta this Weekend. So I caught up with her to kiki about her current projects, how she got started and how to become one of her boys. (That last one is for you Atlanta boys.)

Hi Chi Chi! How are you?

I’m fabulous, darling. Tired, and working, but fabulous. Thank you for asking.

Well, fabulous to hear that. I know you’re a busy, busy girl. Can you tell me what’s going on in the world of Chi Chi right now? I know you have your hand in many different pots.

Well, I’ve been in the process of working on four different [adult] films. We just recently released two of them and we have the third one coming out soon, entitled “Teddy Bear” starring Christopher Daniels, and the fourth one coming out is entitled “Boy Who Cried DILF.” And on top of the films, I’ve been traveling, doing Pride appearances -- this year, I’ll be doing Atlanta Pride, Marietta Pride, Little Rock and an appearance at the Dunes Resort in Michigan. I’m also launching a new toy line called Rascal Toys. It’s great!

You’re a lot busier than I thought. So, next question. How did Chi Chi originate?

Ahh, that age old question. Well, I’m originally from Minnesota, I moved to Los Angeles, got into the adult film business and decided to take over the world. And here I am now.

Now you say you’re from Minnesota, but with all the appearances you have done, and the ones you have lined up, you might as well call yourself an honorary Atlantan. What is it about Atlanta that keeps bringing you back?

Back in the day, I used to perform at the Metro in Atlanta and I just made amazing friends. The owners of BJ Roosters and Brushstrokes are some of my dear friends, and I keep coming back because I just stay in contact with good people.

You’re infamous for your appearances with your boys. (Listen up Atlanta gays.) How does one become a Chi Chi LaRue boy?

There’s usually three bullet points that I look for in my boys. 1. A nice face, 2. A nice body. Or 3. A big penis. If you have two of the three, you’re good to go. Also, I look for natural boys. Guys who doesn’t manscape, who don’t shave their ass or pubes, that kind of stuff; the natural look is a plus for me. As far as boys wanting to audition, all you have to do is take pictures of yourself in your bathroom mirror and send them to me. I’m always willing to take a look .

What has been your favorite experience in your career? Drag, porn, DJ-ing or otherwise.

The top three moments of my life: 1. Getting to travel the world. 2. Getting into the adult film industry. 3. Getting sober.

With your two appearances at Brushstrokes and BJs, can we expect a Clark Kent/Superman kind of Chi Chi? Does daytime Chi Chi differ from nighttime Chi Chi?

Ha ha! No, Chi Chi is always Chi Chi. Larry is a different story. Larry and Chi Chi are different, in that Larry is mild and Chi Chi is not. So, when I’m in drag, it’s a whole other personality, but after doing this so long, I don’t want to get in drag unless I get paid to.

Chi Chi LaRue will host a meet and great and guest DJ at BJ Roosters from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on June 14. On June 15, she will join Brushstrokes from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the expansion of its Pleasures outlet. The event, with swag bags, serves as a benefit for the Atlanta Sisters. LaRue appears at Marietta Pride on July 26.
