When breakups happen in gay Atlanta, handguns, shotguns, knives, bleach and ovens are sometimes involved. But this gay couple shows that when their relationship goes sour, they go old school: fists, punches and a broken tooth. This lesbian couple in west Atlanta has a history. Two or three years of dating, a year of “on and off” living together and scores of fights and calls to 911. Troubled love indeed. The latest skirmish unfolded when the older of the two accused her younger love of cheating. She reacted like most maligned partners want to but don’t: She started throwing her girlfriend’s stuff out of the house. The younger woman’s mother arrived on scene -- mom’s are always butting in -- and wanted to take her daughter with her. That’s when the domestic dispute turned violent. The argument turned physical and the younger woman took a swing at her girlfriend. She missed. The girlfriend didn’t, connecting with a roundhouse and knocking out one of the younger woman’s front teeth. She also threatened her with a box cutter. The older woman says she suffered a scratch on her wrist. The drama continued when the younger woman dialed 911. That’s when she told a dispatcher that she had been stabbed eight times. Not surprisingly, a computer check by emergency dispatchers showed numerous calls from the address. Atlanta police issued an arrest warrant for the older woman. And when she gets pinched, it won’t be her first trip to the big house. She’s been accused of shooting one ex -- an ex-boyfriend, that is -- and smacking around a former girlfriend.
