Charis Books & More assembled a blockbuster list of lesbian and feminist icons to celebrate its 35th anniversary in November, including bell hooks (photo), Gloria Steinem, Beverly Guy-Sheftall, Alice Walker, Pearl Cleage and hometown rockers the Indigo Girls.

Charis announced the guests in an email Wednesday about the celebration, which takes place Nov. 5-8.

Steinem, hooks and Guy-Sheftall are scheduled for Nov. 5; Walker, Cleage and the Indigo Girls for Nov. 6. The event continues Nov. 7-8 with a birthday party, sale and additional author appearances. Additional details about the events were not announced Wednesday.

“We have so much to celebrate and so much to look forward to as we imagine the next 35 years (and beyond) of feminist commmunity, art and activism,” the email states.

Charis also asked for volunteers to {encode=”[email protected]” title=”email”} the store if they are interested in serving on its birthday planning committee.
