Open the wine bottles and people will come. That was the idea behind “Fine Wines & Feminism” late last month, a fundraiser for Charis Circle.

The non-profit supports programs for Charis Books & More, including writers groups, author events, open mics, film screenings and more. (Check the store’s web site for February events.)

imageOn Jan. 30, about 70 supporters of the store — the South’s oldest and largest feminist bookstore — gathered at Highland Bakery in Inman Park for the wine event. Organizers called it a success, though they are still tallying how much was raised during the evening.
