Whack job Carl Paladino – the gay-loathing New York Republican nominee for governor that makes our own Nathan Deal look like a PFLAG dad – took on an Atlanta gay, and the gay guy won. Zach, a 21-year-old political type who’s lived in New York but now calls Atlanta home, emailed Paladino (photo) last week taking him to task for his recent anti-gay comments that included criticizing a gay pride parade and offering this nugget of bigotry: "I don't want them to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option. It isn't." So the young politico took aim, apparently displaying some of the salty language that is typical of New Yorkers:

You are a bigoted, homophobic asshole of the first order. You owe the people of New York - and the American people - a sincere, honest apology for your discriminatory remarks against homosexuality. It is because of people like you that so many gay teenagers in America kill themselves.

The email from the gay Atlanta man came after he created a video (above) for the “It Gets Better” campaign that is the internet meme du jour. He and Paladino exchanged a little back and forth – the gay called the pol a slimeball bigot; the pol says the gay reads crap – before Paladino offers this: “Did u take your meds today Zachary?” Gawker chronicles the entire back-and-forth.
