"Hump Day is Bump Day." A racist joke. And lots of roaches. Blake's, just over swatting down a pickpocket problem, has a new one: A Foursquare page gone wild.
A Project Q reader pointed us to the Foursquare page for the popular gay Atlanta bar, where about a week ago, the not-so-generous but ever-so-descriptive posts started appearing on the page. The latest came Wednesday as a "Check-in Special" for "Dealers & Addicts only."
HUMP DAY is BUMP DAY @ Blake's! After you receive your second-rate cocktail from the bar, head to the bathroom with that baggie in your pocket to keep going!
But it gets worse. About a week ago, the posts purportedly from Blake's went on a health kick of sorts.
We recently received a score of 81.5 from the Georgia Department of Public Health; our best one yet! Just remember to only eat menu items that are deep fried - that should make it safe enough to eat.
And then more specifics: roaches.

The postings also tackled the sensitive topic of Blake's attracting a black crowd on Sunday nights in a less than sensitive way.

It's possible that a troll is masquerading as the bar on the check-in social app. Customers can create listings for businesses, who then must claim the listing to assure its accuracy. We've reached out to Blake's and will update the post if we hear back.
But it's not wise to screw with Blake's fans, a die-hard bunch who will flee a car wreck to get there. Even if they do steal tips from a drag queen once inside.
UPDATE | Alan Briggs, general manager at Blake's, says the posts are "obviously fake" on an unauthorized account for the bar.
"It's sad that anyone with a computer can go online and get this kind of attention for sophomoric behavior," Briggs says in an email. "Our loyal customers can rest assured that the derogatory and false posts on Foursquare are not sanctioned by the management or owner of Blake's On The Park. We can only hope that whoever is behind this defamation can put life in perspective and find more worthy endeavors on which to spend energy and time."
