The Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club (1-2) is looking to snap a two-match losing streak when it faces High Country today.
The teams square off at Coan Middle School in Kirkwood at 4 p.m.
The Bucks opened their eight-game spring season with a 12-0 win against Georgia Tech on Jan. 24. On Feb. 14, they dropped a match to the Birmingham Vulcans 83-0.
“The Bucks fought hard against a better side,” Bucks president Bullet Manale says. “The score was lopsided, but somehow I felt like we came away with a lot of good things. The Bucks started four brand new players and four Bucks in their second season. Our experience level was short but our heart was not. The coaches felt like we gave them more than they expected and made them work for each score.”
On Feb. 21, on a road trip to Maryville, Tenn., the Bucks lost to the Highlanders 60-8.
The Bucks remaining home matches are set for March 21 and 28.
