Just in time for Spring Training, the latest round of the “King of the Hardwood” competition brings us 16 jocks from Major League Baseball.
Though these photos of the Boys of Summer aren’t nearly as revealing as those in previous rounds, our host Layne still manages to deliver a healthy dose of sexy.
Voting in Round 5 runs through Wednesday. Then it’s on to soccer studs.
As a reminder, here’s how it works: Layne pre-selects groups of athletes from eight areas – swimming and diving, track and field, hockey and Australian football, tennis, baseball, soccer, pro football and rugby. Every few days, there’s a new qualifying round. Vote for your favorites, check the running vote tallies on his blog and look for the final round of 64 in mid-March to coincide with the selections for the NCAA basketball tournament.
The contest is democracy at its best. And since the presidential primary in Georgia has long since passed, we need something to occupy our time while neighbors in Ohio, Rhode Island, Texas and Vermont vote tomorrow. Will it be Hillary or Barack? Who cares when you have jocks like Jeff Francoeur (top photo) of the Braves (even if he packed on some pounds in the off-season), slugging Yankee Alex Rodriguez (middle) and Jose Reyes (bottom) from the Mets.
Please forgive me, Braves nation, for selecting Reyes as one of my favorites. Yes, the Mets are a division rival. But hotness wins out over loyalty, right?
