Black Gay Pride serves Pure Heat to Piedmont Park

Thousands of people celebrated Black Gay Pride on Sunday in Piedmont Park, taking in nearly two-dozen artists during the Pure Heat Community Festival.

The annual event delivered big, just like it did last year, 2015, 2014, 2013 and the year before that. In fact, Black Gay Pride has been celebrating in the park for 21 years when it started as a cookout.

The all-day festival offers a market, food vendors, performances and workshops. It's hosted by the Vision Community Foundation and Traxx Girls.
