The Big Gay Supper Club took a holiday reprieve from its usual tasty dinner menus on Saturday, switching gears to a more laid back brunch. Bring on the Southern-style Eggs Benedict and Buttermilk Fried Chicken.
The gays who brunch filled the second-floor dining room of South City Kitchen in Midtown for the supper club’s monthly gathering. The group enjoyed Fried Green Tomatoes as appetizers before digging into Vegetable Frittatas, Southern-style Eggs Benedict, BBQ Pork Sandwiches and Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Stone-ground grits, bacon and collard greens on the side.
It was a brunch that would make Paula Deen proud. But in case that wasn’t enough, there was Cheesecake Bread Pudding to run your fork through at dessert.
The supper club keeps its brunch vibe going next month, too. On Dec. 11, brunch moves to Parish in Inman Park.
The Big Gay Supper Cub returned to the gay social scene last month with more than 50 diners at Agave in Cabbagetown.
