Femme in Public. Writer-performer Alok Vaid-Menon (top photo) takes their audience on a gender coaster ride of poetry, stand-up comedy, drag @ 7 Stages, 8 p.m.
Stonewall 50 Exhibit. The city hosts a weeklong retrospective on LGBTQ rights in Atlanta every day during business hours @ Atlanta City Hall, through June 28. It’s a pretty big deal.
iElevate. The annual conference for African-American LGBTQI people of faith welcomes Al Sharpton, Bevy Smith, TS Madison, Amiyah Scott, Venny Etienne and more. Convenes @ Westin Perimeter, all weekend.
Sangria Friday. Specialty drinks, all the games and matchups on the screens, and all the sporty gays to watch it with @ Woofs, 5 p.m.
Belong Social Friday. The group gathers for grub @ Roxx, 7 p.m.
Cannon & Shannon. Two of the state’s LGBTQ representatives host a Stonewall mixer and fundraiser @ My Sister’s Room, 7 p.m.
Snap, Honey. A raucous, adults-only play about the hard life of drag diva Vageena Honey as she rises to stardom @ Good Acting Studio, Marietta, 8 p.m. with performances Saturday and Sunday as well.
Morningside. Topher Payne’s latest play of Southern sass and big heart opens @ Onstage Atlanta, 8 p.m. Runs through June 29.
The Cake: Closing Weekend. Baker’s rights vs. gay rights, ripped from the headlines and staged for your entertainment @ Horizon Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through June 23.
The Other Show. Edie Cheezburger, Jaye Lish and the cast bring their brand of drag to their new home @ Midtown Moon, 9 p.m.
