Friday, June 21

Femme in Public. Writer-performer Alok Vaid-Menon (top photo) takes their audience on a gender coaster ride of poetry, stand-up comedy, drag @ 7 Stages, 8 p.m.

Stonewall 50 Exhibit. The city hosts a weeklong retrospective on LGBTQ rights in Atlanta every day during business hours @ Atlanta City Hall, through June 28. It’s a pretty big deal.

iElevate. The annual conference for African-American LGBTQI people of faith welcomes Al Sharpton, Bevy Smith, TS Madison, Amiyah Scott, Venny Etienne and more. Convenes @ Westin Perimeter, all weekend.

Sangria Friday. Specialty drinks, all the games and matchups on the screens, and all the sporty gays to watch it with @ Woofs, 5 p.m.

Belong Social Friday. The group gathers for grub @ Roxx, 7 p.m.

Cannon & Shannon. Two of the state’s LGBTQ representatives host a Stonewall mixer and fundraiser @ My Sister’s Room, 7 p.m.

Snap, Honey. A raucous, adults-only play about the hard life of drag diva Vageena Honey as she rises to stardom @ Good Acting Studio, Marietta, 8 p.m. with performances Saturday and Sunday as well.

Morningside. Topher Payne’s latest play of Southern sass and big heart opens @ Onstage Atlanta, 8 p.m. Runs through June 29.

The Cake: Closing Weekend. Baker’s rights vs. gay rights, ripped from the headlines and staged for your entertainment @ Horizon Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through June 23.

The Other Show. Edie Cheezburger, Jaye Lish and the cast bring their brand of drag to their new home @ Midtown Moon, 9 p.m. 

Queer Bait. Party with the East Atlanta cool kids @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

G8Yties. Pull up to the bumper, baby @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Stanley’s Flashback: Disco, Club and R&B Classics kick off the weekend @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Nonsense ATL. DJ Kimber’s straight-inclusive dance party for every freakin’ body @ The Basement, 11 p.m.

Celestial Friday with Celeste Holmes puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars. Don’t forget Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Fresh Fish Friday & Moonlight Cabaret. The new faces of Fresh Fish drag show wrap your week, then the drag eleganza of Moonlight Cabaret starts the weekend @ Midtown Moon, 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Ladies Night. Get your weekend started with DJ beats, performances and scores of women in Midtown’s home for Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

 

Saturday, June 22

Deca-Dance (middle photo). Brut asks  DJ Alex Ramos to bear down the house @ Heretic, 10 p.m. 

Berl Boykin Celebration of Life. Friends and admirers of a late, great father of LGBTQ Atlanta and an architect of Atlanta Pride remember him with discussions of his legacy @ Out Front Theatre, 11 a.m.  He died last year, and wow, what a legacy it is!

Summer Patio Party. Celebrate the season with outdoor fun and DJ music @ Ten, 12 noon – 6 p.m. Stick around for dudes and dancing all night.

People Powered Pride. Southern Fried Queer Pride, Georgia Equality, Atlanta Pride, and the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute host an afternoon of learning and strategy @ Gallery 992, 1 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of the party as the sun drops @ Mary’s, 2:30 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 9 p.m.

AGMC: I See You. Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus presents its annual Stonewall concert. Two performances @ St. Luke’s Episcopal Church 3 p.m. and 8 p.m

Hotlanta Squares. Promenade and do-si-do with the LGBTQ square dancers @ Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 7 p.m.

Relive Queen’s A Night at the Opera. ATL Collective recreates the music, movie and the larger-than-life queer frontman @ Buckhead Theatre, 8 p.m.

Michelle Malone & Sarah Peacock. Two great queers that queer great together. Little bit country, little bit rock and roll @ Crimson Moon, 8 p.m. and tomorrow in Decatur.

Over the Rainbow: A Judy Garland Cabaret. Tribute concert on the 50thanniversary of the icon’s death @ Out Front Theatre, 8 p.m.

Broadway Unplugged. Local and national talent takes the stage to sing in this annual concert @ Conant Performing Arts Center, 8 p.m.

Grrl Crush. DJsWhitney Abstrakt and Ree de la Vega keep the women moving @ My Sister’s Room, 10 p.m.

Outrising. Stonewall Pride party with DJs Anonima & Alexander @ Fox Theatre Marquis Club, 12 noon.

Last Day at Original Woofs. Before they can move, Atlanta's gay sports bar wants one last blowout @ Woofs, 12 noon. Yep, they are totes moving. It's been a long time coming.

LGBTQ History Tour. Touching Up Our Roots gives you a guided look at Atlanta’s queer history by trolley. Starts @ Center for Civil & Human Rights, 1 p.m.

Midtown Rouge. First, it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast including Raquell Lorde @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

Sporty Sunday Funday. Games and matches on screen, plus all the guys to watch them with @ Woofs, 12 noon.

Drag Brunch Theatre. The Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Revival. Gospel Brunch has a whole new look, benefiting Rainbow House @ Midtown Moon, 3 p.m.

Head to Head. An original comedy skit by Touching Up Our Roots called “Atlanta's Own Maria Helena Dolan vs. Anita Bryant” @ Midtown Moon, 4:30 p.m.
