Friday, Feb. 9

Leather & Lace (top photo). DJ Tracy Levine gets the weekend going @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

MAAP Mixer. Gay business group Metro Atlanta Association of Professionals meets @ Ten, 6 p.m.

Tayari Jones and Pearl Cleage. The two authors hold a conversation sponsored by the lesbian-feminist Charis Books @ Alliance Theatre,7 p.m.

Angels in America. The classic play in two parts runs in repertory to tear your heart out with the past informing the present @ Actor’s Express, 8 p.m. Runs through Feb. 17. Read our interview in Q magazine.

The Mystery of Love & Sex. Deep in the American South, Charlotte is Jewish, Jonny is Christian. He’s black, she’s white. Both question their sexuality. It’s complicated @ Out Front Theatre Company, 8 p.m. 

Winter Olympics on all the screens of Atlanta’s gay sports bar @ Woofs, 8 p.m.

Queer Bait. Hang with the cool kids in East Atlanta @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Celestial Friday. Celeste Holmes hosts the show “where the stars come out” and puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

 

Saturday, Feb. 10

Black Hearts Ball (middle photo). The Wussy crew does it again. This year, they join forces for this anti-VDay throwdown with La Choloteca. Now it’s one badass Amor Prohibido @ Star Bar, 10 p.m. Last time was a lot.

AID Atlanta Clothing Drive. Bring donations to sold through the Good Deeds Thrift Superstores @ BJ Roosters, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of the party as the sun drops @ Mary’s, 2:30 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly schedule shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin. Atlanta Queer Literary Festival Book Club unpacks a classic during this open discussion @ Ponce Branch Library, 3 p.m.

Bucks Meat Raffle. Meat lover? The gay jocks of Atlanta Bucks Rugby deliver a diverse smorgasbord in a bachelor auction that also includes literal deli meats with each date. Because meat @ Woofs, 8 p.m. Read our interview in this week’s Q magazine.

Armorettes. The monthly extra show against HIV from your camp crazies @ Heretic, 8 p.m.

Clare Summerskill. This British standup comedian and singer treats Atlanta to ‘Fairly Vocal to Varifocal!’ @ Avondale Town Cinema, 8 p.m.

Better Way to Meet. Single gay and bi men mix at this interactive speed dating mixer with cash bar and food menu @ Anchor Down, 9 p.m.

Fantasy Girls. The queens you love doing what you love in a new home @ Ten, 9 p.m.

Rise with DJ Joe Gauthreaux. The dance party never really stops, and neither do this party series or its legendary slate of spinmeisters. Get with your gays @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Stoplight Party. Green means go with DJ Neon the Glowgobear kicks Saturday into high gear @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Pop! Popup drag and Popup men werqs Saturday night into a frenzy @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

 

Sunday, Feb. 11

Drag Queen Story Time (bottom photo). Brent Star returns to the chair to read to the kids and entertain the adults @ Posman Books, 3 p.m.

Field Day Beer Bust. The charity guys raising money toward their springtime fun day raise a glass or ten @ Frogs, 2 p.m.

Sporty Sunday Funday. All the games and matches on the screens, and all the guys to watch it with @ Woofs, 12 noon.

Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Midtown Rouge. First it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast including Raquell Lorde @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

On My Way Out: The Secret Life of Nani and Popi. After surviving the Holocaust, six decades of marriage and a family, Popi comes out as gay. Filmakers answer questions with Out on Film after the screening as part of Atlanta Jewish Film Festival @ UA Tara, 6 p.m.

Sunday Tea. The weekly tradition of dudes, DJs and drinks continues @ Ten. Low-Tea vocal tracks, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. High Tea today’s hits, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Armorettes. The camp drag crazies with the hearts of gold against AIDS are in their 40th year of weekly shows. Get in on it @ Oscar's, 8 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens goes all in @ My Sister’s Room, 9:30 p.m. They are crushing the new venue.
