You work hard for the money. Now that the workweek light is at the end of the tunnel, LGBT Houston opens its lovin’ arms to embrace you with these events and make it all better.

Friday, Sept. 19

“Victor/Victoria” (top photo) brings its gender-bending comedy, gay inclusiveness and fab drag numbers to their live stage glory @ Theatre Under the Stars, 8 p.m. Runs Tuesday – Sunday nights, with additional weekend matinees, through Sept. 28.

The Hunk Guys: Tadeo & Robert. Get you some sugar from these visiting studs from Mexico and turn them every which way but loose @ F Bar, 10 p.m.

Boys! Boys! Boys! It’s the new Friday night delight sure to make your pants tighter in the front. Get down with strippers in multiple shows, and get there early for a good seat @ Guava Lamp, 10 p.m.

Selfies Millennial Friday puts drag and dancing on your radar with scores of friends each and every week @ South Beach, 9 p.m.

Kissin’ Country Cousins. It’s always time for two-steppin’ and line-dancin’ in the legendary Esquire Ballroom @ Neon Boots. Dance lessons 7:30 p.m., Boot scootin’, 9 p.m.

Beats, beers and boys puts the party in your pocket and the gay in your Friday @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, all day.

Boys and Men. You know you love it @ JR’s and Mining Company’s Cockfight.

Dance Your Ass Off and get moving on the floor @ Blur, 10 p.m.

Shower Boys never let you down @ Meteor, 10 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 20

Shakira Tribute Night with Yara Sofia (middle photo). The little dynamo of Season 3 hits the ground running where her fellow queens have gone before. Check her out in her dead-on Shakira impersonation and other numbers @ South Beach, 9 p.m. Can she out-do Sharon Needles and Chad Michaels? You decide.

“The ‘Left’ Bank on the Bayou: Avant-gare Art & Theatre in 1930s Houston.” The name is long, but the exhibit is deep. Catch an early local spark that set a markedly cosmopolitan fire long before Houston was much more than a cowtown. Curated by Okane Gallery @ UH Downtown, through Oct. 16.

Sound Factory Saturday. One, two, you know what to do @ Guava Lamp, 9 p.m.

Country Dance. Before there was Gilley’s, there was the Esquire Ballroom. Now the legendary space is where your gay-ass boots meet the beat @ Neon Ballroom, 9 p.m.

Party time. Excellent. Slip into something that will warm your gay heart @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, all day.

Shower Boys leave a wet spot on your Saturday @ Meteor, 9 p.m.

DJ beats get you moving on the dance floor @ Blur, 10 p.m.

Drag divas never really end when it’s cheap drinks and Showgurlz @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.

Scruffy Saturday. Cruise on over with DJ beats and hot male dancers @ Mining Company, 9 p.m.

Fruit loop. No weekend is complete without a stop in for a few laps around the loop and a drink or five while eyeing the go-go boys @ JR’s, all day.

Sunday, Sept. 21

Sunday Fun Day Karaoke (bottom photo) with a host that’s as entertaining as the singers @ Guava Lamp, 10 p.m. Lounge doors for day drinking at 4 p.m.

Sunday Funday parties hard until you absolutely have to go home and start your workweek @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, 12 noon.

Country Sunday. Mosey on over for some afternoon delight. It’s the most C&W Sunday fun you can have with your boots on @ Neon Boots, 12 noon.

Sunday Fun Day Drag Show with Kofi and the girls and all of Houston’s ready-to-party gay boys @ JR’s. All day bar, evening drag.

Hot Mess Sunday with Deejay Pollo and Ricky Lee and Houston’s hottest Spanish-English video remix set @ Blur, 10:30 p.m.

Men At Work with trash disco by DJ Danny G and drink specials @ Mining Company, all day.

Retox Sunday with F Divas shuts down the weekend. These queens know what you need, and you’re going to get it @ F Bar, 6 p.m.
