Best gay things to do in Houston this weekend

Whether you can’t stand or can’t get enough of Valentine’s Day, get the gay love you need this Friday through Sunday with LGBT Houston events that honor and/or shame the Hallmark holi-gay.

Friday, Feb. 13

Boomer Banks (top photo). The hot Latin porn puppy hits the stage showers with the Shower Boys to get you all wet to get your weekend kicked off right. Photo autographing session too @ Meteor, 9 p.m. Can’t get enough? A return engagement is planned for Saturday.

Valentine March For Marriage Equality. Bring your signs, because what better time to show Texas what it’s all about: Love. Show yours @ Harris County Courthouse & Clerks Office, 11 a.m. Rally after @ City Hall, 12:30 p.m.

“Kinky Boots.” The shoe-riffic, drag-tastic Broadway musical hits Houston @ Hobby Center, 8 p.m. Runs through Feb. 22.

Bernadette Peters. A special pre-Valentine concert by one of Broadway’s best Broadway babies performing with the Houston Symphony. Get your socks blown off @ Jones Hall, 8 p.m.

Cirque Du Soleil “Amaluna.” These gods and goddesses can twist up some visions in the latest from these masters @ Sam Houston Race Park, 8 p.m. Runs through March 22.

Viernes Noche Latina. It’s always time for two-steppin’ and line-dancin’ in the legendary Esquire Ballroom, and it’s always Latin Night on Fridays @ Neon Boots.

Friday the 13th Love Is Scary Singles Party. Guys get with your lesbians, and lesbians get with your girls. When two holi-gays meet, it’s scary @ Pearl Bar, 10 p.m.

Slammed Friday gets your motor running with hot boys, drag and other surprises like half-price happy hour @ F Bar, 8 p.m.

Selfies Millennial Friday puts drag and dancing on your radar with scores of friends each and every week, hosted by London Adour @ South Beach, 9 p.m.

Karaoke Fridays. You know what’s up. Happy hour to the wee hours and you belting like a diva with your host Ty Frazier @ Guava Lamp, 9 p.m. 

Fetish Friday. If it turns your crank, they’re doing it @ Eagle Houston, 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Modern Men 80s Night. Bears, Cubs, Daddy, Chaser, Twink, Leather, Levis and Masculine Men. Do it up to the mix-tape music of the ‘80s @ Ripcord, 9 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 14

Red Party with Tyra Sanchez and DJ Kidd Madonny. The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner (middle photo) and the stud-muffin beat master join forces to rock your V-Day @ South Beach, 9 p.m. This DJ is hella sexy, y’all.

Caring Cabaret. A benefit for AIDS Walk Houston and Bering Omega, get an eyeful and earful of amazing talents @ Ovations, 8 p.m.

XO Party. Kisses and hugs to a kick-ass Valentine’s Night with couple drink specials and so much more @ F Bar, 9 p.m. Get there early to rub up on some gay jocks during Montrose Softball League’s Pink Party, 7 p.m.

Country Valentine Before there was Gilley’s, there was the Esquire Ballroom. Now the legendary space is where your gay-ass boots meet the beat, this week with specials for two @ Neon Boots, 9 p.m.

Shower Boys leave a wet spot on your Saturday with DJ Athenz on the decks @ Meteor, 9 p.m. This week with gay porn star Boomer Banks, 11: 30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.

Drag divas never really end when it’s cheap drinks and Showgurlz @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.

Scruffy Saturday. Cruise on over with DJ beats and hot male dancers @ Mining Company, 9 p.m.

Fruit loop. No weekend is complete without a stop in for a few laps around the loop and a drink or five while eyeing the go-go boys @ JR’s, all day.


Sunday, Feb. 15

Dangerous Disco (bottom photo). Thumping beats and the Texans on TV. Don’t stop ‘til you get enough @ Eagle Houston, 12 noon – 2 a.m.

Retox Sunday shuts down the weekend. These queens know what you need, and you’re going to get it @ F Bar, 6 p.m.

Kickback Sunday. Mosey on over for some afternoon delight. It’s the most C&W Sunday fun you can have with your boots on @ Neon Boots, 12 noon.

All-Day Happy Hour. Whether it’s DJ beats, live music, sports on TV, or free food in the house, lesbians do what comes naturally @ Pearl Lounge, 12 noon – 2 a.m.

Legends serve it to you until you’ve had enough, and then they give it to you again. When they say legends, they mean it. Salute to Naomi Sims, Tasha Kohl, Donna Day, and Hot Chocolate @ Meteor, 8:30 p.m.

Sunday Fun Day Drag Show with Kofi and the girls and all of Houston’s ready-to-party gay boys @ JR’s. All day bar, evening drag.

All Star Sunday. Alexis Nicole Whitney corrals the queens and closes out your weekend with a showstopper that you have to see to believe @ TC’s Showbar, 11 p.m.

Bust Sundays. It’s you and your brew crew for the cheapest vodka and draft you’ll find. Don’t let the weekend getaway without one more round @ Ripcord, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Hot Mess Sunday with Deejay Pollo and Ricky Lee and Houston’s hottest Spanish-English video remix set @ Blur, 10:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday parties hard until you absolutely have to go home and start your workweek @ Bayou City Bar & Grill, 12 noon.
