Best gay things to do in Atlanta this weekend

Halloween is over but costume parties continue. So does the overflowing cornucopia of Harvest season’s gay events in Atlanta. Fill up on abundant LGBT fall fetes, fellas, fillies and fests.

Friday, Nov. 1
Day of the Dead Celebration & Costume Contest. Get out those skulls and see dead people (top photo) with prizes, food and drink specials, a benefit for breast cancer and more with the gays who do up everything Latin style @ Las Margaritas, 8 p.m.

Lost N Found Anniversary Weekend Vigil is founder Rick Westbrook’s ode to some 750 LGBT homeless youth in Atlanta. For the second year, he lives outside all weekend (second photo) and collects gloves, coats, food and more to raise awareness in the parking lot @ Burkhart’s, 9 p.m. Check out our photos from last year. Saturday service plus a Sunday benefit brunch and closing party, too.

Figure & Form Sculpture Show highlights the work of eight artists in a one-night show and reception decking the gay-owned halls @ pb&j gallery, 7 p.m.

Tanz Farm. Contemporary performance anthology series plays all weekend via the gloATL company. Hot Israeli couple Niv Scheinfeld and Oren Laor perform their “Two Room Apartment” tonight and all weekend @ Goat Farm Arts Center, 8 p.m.  

Pop! Star with Princess Charles is the new monthly talent showcase with the diva himself and a weekly $100 cash prize to the winner of the contest, building toward a $1,000 [email protected] 10th & Piedmont, 11 p.m.

Dinner & A Movie: “The Exorcist” kicks off Jungle’s weekend with dragster Jaye Lishe, a different screening each week, and great menu specials in the Jungle Room @ Jungle, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sit. Stay. It’s time for the zaniness of The Other Show One Year Anniversary & Halloween with Edie Cheezburger (third photo) and her uniquely creative cast and some birthday surprises, 9:30 p.m.

Charlie’s Angels is the newest show at Midtown’s go-to bar. Join gay porn sexpert Charlie Harding and a cast including Shawnna, Chavon, Niesha, Lateasha and legendary Lena @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Haunted Heretic drops you into gay Atlanta’s hot weekly man-on-man dance party, this time with a Halloween twist @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Get there early with the new weekly Bear Bust with bottomless brew, 7 p.m. Check out their hot, hairy, hunky costumes.

Half Naked Halloween (fourth photo) continues all weekend @ BJ Roosters. It’s just one of your last shots to top these gay Atlanta Halloween costumes.

Costume Contest and Monsters Ball keeps you thinking Halloween all weekend @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

The Fab Five drag revue puts the glamazons on display each week hosted by Angelica D’Paige. This week, get your dollars ready for some of Atlanta’s premiere queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Mask-A-Rave suits up with the best lesbian dance party, only costumed for the holigay one more time @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m. They killed it for Halloween last weekend.

Got Leche? lays out its weekly gay Latin night with shows, dancing and more, this week with DJ Chiko @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

 

Saturday, Nov. 2
Southern Softpaw League pitches and catches with the gay fall softball jocks. Come for the guys, stay for … well stay for the guys too @ Southside Park, noon.  Post-Games Beer Bust hosted this week by the Twisters team @ Hideaway, 4 p.m. Here are last week's gay jocks.

Chastain Park Arts Festival (fifth photo) puts you in the fresh fall air with arts, music, food and drink vendors with the gay-led green space lovers of AFFPS @ Chastain Park, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday too. They’ve been festing it all year.

Charis 39th Birthday Party & Sale. There’s cake! Come show your appreciation for the stalwarts at Atlanta’s lesbian-feminist bookstore as they celebrate with reduced-price books, baked goods and an evening reading for gay parents @ Charis Books & More, all day.

Lost N Found Community Meeting & Candlelight Service continues the homeless LGBT youth advocacy organization’s second-anniversary 48-hour vigil (sixth photo) with a service to remind you what ousted Atlanta teens face. Join in and donate outside @ Burkhart’s, 6:30 p.m.

Collections of Connections Live Art Show puts 30 artists at the easel side-by-side. $75 will even get you an original piece of art created before your very eyes. Drinks and live music, too, in the gay-owned spaces @ Kai Lin Art, 7 p.m.

Halloweener dresses up to undress the all-nude gay strippers. Includes costume contest and “fall back” hours @ Bliss, 7 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Costume Contest and Monsters Ball keeps you thinking Halloween @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

DJ Twisted Dee (seventh photo) pumps the tribal beats into your loins and makes you get half naked and dance @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Come early for dinner, drinks and a great show by the cast of Ruby’s Redd Light District in the Jungle Room, 9:30 p.m.

Raw Talent puts the kings and queens on stage with the lesbian dance party all the ladies will be talking about on Monday morning @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Grind-Here is the in-person version of the singles night you have in your pants, er on your smartphone. DJ beats and drag get the party started @ Mixx, 10 p.m.

Half Naked Halloween continues all weekend @ BJ Roosters. It’s just one of your last shots to top these gay Atlanta Halloween costumes. Are you up to it?

Gurlfrandz: Glamazon (eighth photo) ramps up the realness with the savage partiers of the so-wrong-oh-so right East Atlanta drag show @ Mary’s, 10:30 p.m.

DragXotic cast werqs the Saturday night crowd with an all-new show headed by Nicole Luv Dupree. Of course you’ll want to go earlier for more cute boys than you can handle @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Early Country & Late Night Dance offers line dancing and two stepping after the sun goes down, then DJ Mike Pope picks up the pace until close @ Heretic, 8 p.m. and 12 midnight.

Zombie Fest welcomes all comers to the burbs. Not feeling an intown experience? Get the shows, specials and swagger that goes with the OTP gays @ LeBuzz, Marietta, 9 p.m., Halloween crazy goes all weekend.

Extravaganza Show is the weekly fabulosity with blonde and beautiful Shavonna B. Brooks and cast @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Midnight Madness drags out the dinner hour into party time with Angelica D’Paige @ 10th & Piedmont, 11 p.m.

 

Sunday, Nov. 3
Respect the Brunch is the new recurring brunch headed by a cute couple (bottom photo) that brings scores of gays to Midtown eateries for charity. Debut event benefits Lost N Found @ Ten, 12:30 p.m. Read our Sunday Funday preview.

Flashback Showgirls is the drag show that takes you back, all the way back to a new decade each week. Lady Shabazz leads the cast @ 10th & Piedmont, 8 p.m.
