Wouldn’t you just love a whole weekend of parties as hot as the weather? Your wish is gay Atlanta’s command as Joining Hearts Weekend tops dozens of summer event options for fun.

Friday, July 15

Joining Hearts Kickoff with DJ Joe Gauthreaux (top photo). The gay Atlanta signature weekend of fundraising dance parties begins with this sexy circuit spinner @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Keep it up, boy with DJ Karlitos Late Night @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

Boys Room. Come hang out with the cool kids @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

The Other Show. Come to the unique weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast and special guests that always pack a surprise @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m

Deadly Vixens puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Mr. & Ms. Eagle Bar Night. Come do some shots and tip the reigning pair, then the money goes back to good in the gayborhood @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Friday Night Dance Party. Another weekly way to kick off your weekend just hit 10th Street. See what you can get into @ G’s, 10 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Crush Friday turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. This week, it’s a White Party theme.


Saturday, July 16

Joining Hearts (middle photo). A year of buzz-building events, an expanded mission, and 29 years building a reputation for the hottest guys of summer come to this: gay Atlanta’s hottest summer pool party for charity @ Piedmont Park, 4 p.m.

Joining Hearts Afterparty with DJ Alain Jackinsky. This international sensation just in from Montreal won't let Joining Hearts skip a beat @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Oh that’s not all. No, ma’am. Legendary DJ Alyson Calagna Late Night kicks it into overdrive @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

Respect the Brunch. The semi-regular brunchers for charity are back, this time with your meal benefiting PFLAG Atlanta @ Zocalo, 11 a.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during regularly schedule shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Say Whaaaaat? For Brent Star. An all-star lineup of local acts performs to help raise medical expenses for the madcap performer with a heart of gold @ Laughing Skull Lounge, 4:30 p.m.

Indigo Girls. Everybody’s favorite hometown lesbians Amy and Emily harmonize sweeter than honey just a quick drive up the road @ Ivester Amphitheater, Gainesville, 8 p.m.

Ginger Appreciation Night. All the red and fiery gays, plus all the gays who love them @ Woofs, 9 p.m.

Early Country-Late Night Dance. The boot-scootin kicks things off @ Heretic, 8 p.m. The Blackout/Retro Disco Party closes things out, 12:30 a.m.

DJ Marc J. Cubs. The hunky local spinner does his thing with Atlanta Bucks Rugby in the house @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Synergy turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.


Sunday, July 17

Midtown Rouge. Get to gettin' with High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the Sunday drag show kicks its latest, most fabulous iteration with an all-star cast including Raquell Lord (bottom photo) @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips (bottom photo), 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday wraps your weekend just the way you like it: with all your gays plus DJs Rob Reum and Robert Ansley @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight. This week, Halloween in New Orleans hosts some surprises to tease their big October shindig.

Joining Hearts Closing Party. DJ Martin Fry can’t stop the charity beat, and you wouldn’t want him to @ Jungle, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Armorettes: Snatch Game. Atlanta’s camp drag crazies against HIV do their weekly good in the gayborhood @ Burkhart’s, 7:30 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens @ Burkhart’s, 9:30 p.m.
