You did work. Now let’s do werk. Put some LGBT in your Fourth of July with gay Atlanta events that pepper your plans with parties, plays, performances and your people.

Friday, July 3

Atlanta Bear Fest (top photo). Your situation is about to get hairy. The pursuit of the hirsute goes down all weekend in celebration of big hairy guys and the men who adore them. Get started with a daytime pool party with DJ Eric, vendors, cigar smoke, evening open bar and a shuttle to the Eagle @ Courtyard Atlanta Executive Park, 12 noon – 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, too.

Atlanta Pride Flower Hour. Get your annuals for the garden while you indulge in free wine and munchies. Donations benefit Atlanta Pride @ Gardenhood, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

“Avenue Q.” The Broadway smash and favorite local production returns with its inclusive messages and irreverently funny puppets @ Conant Center at Oglethorpe University, 8 p.m., through July 12.

Boys Room. One two, you know what to do. Three, four come on through the door @ Mary’s, 9 p.m. 

The Other Show. The most unique weekly drag cabaret in town with a cast and special guests who keep you guessing @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m.

IndepenDANCE. DJ Sean Mac puts an extra spin on his spinning so that the weekly man-on-man dance party can be all red, white and you @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Deadly Vixens drag show puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus DJ Mike Pope’s Second Level @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Ladies Lounge gets your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Chaparral Night turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.


Saturday, July 4

“The Brazilians Are Coming!” Dance Party. DJs Rafael Barreto (middle photo) and Joao Angelo rock the Fourth of July beats that move your feets @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for the Fantasy Girls show, 9 p.m.

Atlanta Bear Fest. A pursuit of the hirsuit continues all weekend. Take everything you loved about Friday and add an ABF photo shoot, South of the Border Buffet, games with former Mr. Eagle Wayne Turpin and Best Of Show awards @ Courtyard Atlanta Executive Park, 12 noon – 9 p.m. And yes, everybody heads to the Eagle, 10 p.m.

‘July 54th’ Disco Daydrinking. An all-day party celebrating the music of Studio 54 with DJ Bryan Craft, “Name that disco tune” contest and Metrotainment giveaways @ Einstein’s, 12 noon – 9 p.m.

Gay Fireworks. Well, kinda. When the seasonal pyrotechnics are in East Point, your family-friendly afternoon and evening are pretty gay @ East Point Commons, 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. And if you’re watching the Decatur ones, do it with barbecue and the gay-run Williams-Teusink folks @ Historic High House, 6 p.m.

Alt-queer Fourth of July. Get you some rockets red glare with DJ J-Mike, live performances by former Sing For Your Life favorites @ Publik Draft House, 8 p.m.

Country All Night. Scoot your boots with the line-dancing, two-stepping gays @ Heretic, 8 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled nighttime shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Synergy turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The undisputed Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests. DJ and video beats plus more cute boys than you can handle @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Red White and Brew. Atlanta’s lesbian dance party puts on a sexy show to supplement the weekly womyn ways @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

DJ Renato Cecin All Nighter moves you all the way to sunrise, just steps away from BJs, Heretic and Jungle. Never stop shaking your ass @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.


Sunday, July 5

Zocalo 20th Anniversary Sunday Funday (bottom photo). That’s two decades hosting the gay daydrunks! Celebrate with shot and beer specials plus DJ Neon the Glowgobear @ Zocalo, 4 p.m.- 8 p.m. These guys know how to party.

Atlanta Bear Fest closes out with a breakfast buffet and off-site pool party with initial gatherings starting @ Courtyard Atlanta Executive Park, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Drag Gospel Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday. DJ Rob Reum and DJ Robert Ansley give you the inside-outside weekend closing party that you so deeply desire @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight.

High Energy & Cell Block Sunday. Get to gettin' with DJ Bill Berdeaux, 3 p.m., then the Cell Block drag show with Lateasha Shuntel, Raquell Lord, Shawnna Brooks, Nicole Paige Brooks and Taejah Thomas @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

Sex Kitten Sunday with Angelica D’Paige corralling the queens @ 10th & Piedmont, 8 p.m.

The Armorettes. Those local camp crazies throw down their weekly show for tips against HIV/AIDS in Atlanta  @ Hideaway, 8 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet, her left-of-center queens, and DJ King Atlas rock this weekly drag show and dance party @ Burkhart’s, 9 p.m.
