Friday, April 22

Atlanta Bear Pride (top photo). A full weekend of the bear-y best includes three days, five venues and multiple parties. Kick things off tonight with London DJ Louis Lennon helming Bearracuda Bear Pride @ Heretic, 9 p.m.Keep it going with Bear Pride Afterhours featuring DJ Mike Pope @ Xion, 3  a.m. – 7 a.m. Keep scrolling for Saturday and Sunday events. Embrace a Trans. This event invites supporters to stand in unison with transgender organizers to bring awareness of trans people, especially trans immigrant Latinas, in public life @ Five Points MARTA Station, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

AGLCC Fourth Friday. Join the LGBT professionals of the Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce for a networking happy hour hosted by AARP @ Einstein’s, 5 p.m.

“Godspell.” The Broadway adaptation of the Christ story gets a gay makeover by a gay director in the gay-friendly surroundings @ St. Mark UMC, 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday too.

“Dreamgirls” Closing Weekend. A local production of the popular musical is helmed by a gay director @ Atlanta Lyric Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through April 24.

Boys Room. Come hang out with the cool kids @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Cirque du Soleil: Kurios. The latest cirque show hits town with a steampunk “cabinet of curiosities” @ Atlantic Station, 8 p.m. Runs through May 8. It's a six-pack show of sex appeal.

The Other Show. A weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast tries to keep you guessing @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m

Deadly Vixens puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Friday Night Dance Party. Another weekly way to kick off your weekend just hit 10th Street. See what you can get into @ G’s, 10 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Chaparral Night turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.


Saturday, April 23

Atlanta Bear Pride continues with the Ready4Hope BearBQ (middle photo) cookout with $20 unlimited beer, food and music by DJ Seth Breezy @ Heretic, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Party on with Bear Invasion Atlanta starring DJs Sean Mac and Tony Ruggiero @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Don’t stop ‘til you get enough. Victory for Rafer and Josh. As two gay men each goes for his district’s statehouse seat and for the historic title of first gay man in the Georgia legislature, Josh Noblitt and Rafer Johnson stump for funds during this cocktail event @ Aqua Midtown, 5 p.m. Noblitt is closing in, and Johnson is playing to win.

NFFLA Flag Football pits the gay teams of National Flag Football League of Atlanta in their weekly gay jock showdown @ Silverbacks Park, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

Atlanta Anarchy Beer Bust. The Hotlanta Softball League team hosts this $10 beer bust with shots, raffles and cocktail specials @ Cowtippers, 2 p.m. It might look similar, and you may want to stumble over to, the Atlanta Arsenal Beer Bust @ Blake’s 4 p.m.

Wes Anderson #Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during regularly schedule shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Country all night. Scoot your boots open to close @ Heretic, 8 p.m.

Deep South: Bears in Space. LA DJs Chris Bowen and Victor Rodriguez do this local alterna-queer event with a special nod to all the bears in town @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

SFQP Peach Pit Pageant. Help bring the next Southern Fried Queer Pride to fruition and tip the contestants in this fun, left-of-center talent contest @ Eyedrum, 10 p.m.

Synergy turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.


Sunday, April 24

Hotlanta Softball League pits the teams of gay pitchers and catchers against each other @ Johnson Park, Conyers, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Don’t miss the Extra Innings Beer Bust @ BJ Roosters, 3 p.m.

Brunch Lines Comedy. The monthly showcase of the Southeast’s best comics and variety acts is co-curated by gay Atlanta’s own Ian Aber. The most original brunch entertainment in town @ Highland Inn Ballroom, 1 p.m.

Atlanta Bucks Beer Bust. The gay jocks of the local rugby squad gather for bottomless brews, registering for this year’s all-fun Purple Dress Run, and selling fundraising Jell-O shots @ Cowtippers, 2 p.m.
