Whether you got a break on Tax Day or not, you earned an awesome weekend of LGBT events just for getting through it. Tune up and tune in right here for maximizing your downtime dividends.

Friday, April 15

LGBT Tech Happy Hour. MAAP Metro Atlanta Association of Professionals and the OUT (Out Under Thirtyish) arm of Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (top photo) talk tech and network @ Ponce City Market, 5 p.m.

Caroline Herring. Girls with guitars get gals. Gather giddily @ Eddie’s Attic, 7 p.m.

“Dreamgirls.” A local production of the popular musical is helmed by a gay director @ Atlanta Lyric Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through April 24.

Trailer Park Birthday Bash. Help Bama do up his birthday in low style @ Oscar’s, 9 p.m.

Boys Room. Come hang out with the cool kids @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Pump. There’s no cover charge to kick off your weekend at this man-on-man dance party, this week with DJs Travis & Eric @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Cirque du Soleil: Kurios. The latest cirque show hits town with a steampunk “cabinet of curiosities” @ Atlantic Station, 8 p.m. Runs through May 8. It's a six-pack show of sex appeal.

“Into the Woods” Closing Weekend. You like musicals. This is one of the best. A local production of the Broadway favorite runs through April 17 at Aurora Theatre, 8 p.m.

The Other Show. A weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast tries to keep you guessing @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m

Deadly Vixens puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Friday Night Dance Party. Another weekly way to kick off your weekend just hit 10th Street. See what you can get into @ G’s, 10 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Chaparral Night turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.


Saturday, April 16

Mr. HSL. The annual pageants of gay jocks returns with guys repping for the title and your tips @ Jungle, 6 p.m. It’s a gay jock dreams come true, not to mention a total mess. In a good way. Save room for the Eagle Afterparty, 8 p.m.

Suds & Suds. Two gay institutions share a parking lot and a cause to raise funds for Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Car wash and beer bust slings both kinds of suds @ BJ Roosters & Heretic, 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

NFFLA Flag Football pits the gay teams of National Flag Football League of Atlanta in their weekly gay jock showdown @ Silverbacks Park, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.  Don’t miss the After-games Beer Bust @ Frogs, 4 p.m.

Ginger Appreciation Night. Redheads to the front of this line, all their loyal admirers follow them right on in @ Woofs, 6 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during regularly schedule shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Boybutante Ball Roadtrip. If you’re down for a drive, go to Athens for this annual ball featuring drag acts and scores of dancing guys raising funds against AIDS. This year’s theme is “20,000 Legs Under the Sea” @ 40 Watt Club, 9 p.m.

DJ Roland Belmares. The gay dance circuit favorite is back pumping beats @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Get there early for Armorette Backroom Follies, 8 p.m.

Glow Party. Your favorite neon/glo-in-the-dark outfit and tons of fun with DJ Rob Reum under the blacklights @ Ten, 10 p.m.

Liquefied. EDM for the masses with Thugfucker, Luis Valencia and Frank Duke @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for the Fantasy Girls show, 9 p.m.

Synergy turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

DJs Travis & Eric All Nighter moves you all the way to sunrise, just steps away from BJs, Heretic and Jungle. Saturday never really ends @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.


Sunday, April 17

Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips (bottom photo), 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Hotlanta Softball League pits the teams of gay pitchers and catchers against each other @ Johnson Park, Conyers, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Don’t miss the Extra Innings Beer Bust @ Cockpit, 3 p.m.

LNF Sunday Funday. A beer bust party raises funds for Lost N Found Youth’s GED program @ Frogs, 2 p.m.

AV200 Patio Party. A portion of sales goes to benefit the upcoming AIDS Vaccine 200 bike ride @ Ten, 2 p.m.- 5 p.m. Stick around. Sunday Funday wraps your weekend just the way you like it: with all your gays plus DJs Rob Reum and Robert Ansley @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight

Miss Gay Georgia USofA & USofA At Large. Queens for crowns @ Jungle, 7:30 p.m.

High Energy & Super Sunday. Get to gettin' with High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the Super Sunday drag show with Evah Destruction, Nichelle Paris, Shawnna Brooks and Raquell [email protected] Blake's, 8 p.m.

Armorettes. Atlanta’s camp drag crazies against AIDS are back doing good in the gayborhood @ Burkhart’s, 7:30 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens @ Burkhart’s, 9:30 p.m.
