People, get ready. Gird your loins for enough local gay events to sate even the hardest partiers and overwhelm a few newbies. Don’t say you weren’t warned. Shows, soirees and special guests, oh my!

Friday, Feb. 28
The Other Show: Twerks of Art offers a themey twist on the most unique drag cabaret in town. It's the perfect week to introduce your friends to this one-of-a-kind cast (top photo) and their special guests. She’s so unusual @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m. Show up early for Dinner & A Movie, 7:30 p.m., and stick around for the gay-friendly Nectar: Cirque de Bass, 10:30 p.m.

Garrison Starr (second photo). The lesbian crooner rocks your socks off in a set opened by P.J. Pacifico. Go get you some @ Eddie’s Attic, 9:30 p.m.

AGLCC Fourth Friday invites Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce Members to a happy hour wind-down @ Vivid Hair Salon, 5:30 p.m.

“Shakespeare’s R&J” closes this weekend. Watch Romeo & Juliet with an all-male twist. Watch the boys really warm up to each other exploring the classic roles @ Fabrefaction Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through a Sunday matinee.

Fur draws all the boys onto gay Atlanta’s hot man-on-man dance floor, this week with DJ Sean Mac @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Ladies Lounge gets your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party and scores of ladies with the TraxxGirls promoters @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

“RuPaul’s” JuJuBee (third photo) comes to town with a few Atlanta “Drag Race” queens along for the ride. Join Juju, Nicole and Phoenix along with the usual Femme Fatale Friday glamazons @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m. Remember what Juju did to Atlanta Pride?

Sweet Tea: Love Edition returns. LGBTTQQIAA comics, drag acts, artists, singers and more hit the stage. “And we're in the mood for radical love – in all the forms, shapes, and words that it comes in” @ The Hanger, Old Fourth Ward, 9 p.m.

Swank is the monthly women’s jam at the hotspot on the corner of Gay and Lesbian. Ladies fandango with VJ beats and tons of surprises @ 10th & Piedmont, 10 p.m.

Carnival/Mardi Gras Kickoff brings the gay boys together to begin a weekend of debauchery leading up to Fat Tuesday @ Ten Atlanta, 10 p.m.

Got Leche? weekly gay Latin night features stage shows, dancing and more @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Daring Divas lays it on thick with Lena Lust, Sawnna Brooks, Lateasha Shuntel, Chavon Scott and Niesha Dupree @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Men’s Night: Hardbody Contest draws all the suburban gays to the yard for sexy OTP fun. It’s also customer appreciation night @ LeBuzz, Marietta, 10 p.m. This week, see gay rapper J. Tyler.


Saturday, March 1
Big Wig 6: La Grande Wig (fourth photo) puts your best hair forward to benefit Atlanta Gay Men’s Chorus. This is one of Atlanta’s biggest gay parties of the year. Put your do on and pose @ La Maison Rouge, 7 p.m. It’s all kinds of crazy.

Barking Leather Grand Opening Party. The Lost N Found Thrift Store & LGBT youth drop in center get an in-house neighbor in this specialty shop. Drinks, appetizers and 10 percent off all day @ Barking Leather inside LNF, 12 noon – 6 p.m.

Open Play Tennis serves and volleys with the gay Atlanta Team Tennis Association @ Glenlake Tennis Center, 1 p.m.

Purim Off Ponce (fifth photo) suits up for its annual costume celebration of the Jewish holiday with dancing, cocktails and munchies to benefit Sojourn, the former Rainbow Center @ Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, 7:30 p.m.

Dragavanza gathers its gays for both Joining Hearts and Lost N Found Youth. Hang with the boys, watch a divers cast of queens, see some art, and all for good causes @ Jungle, 6:30 p.m.

Jockstrap Sister Twister. Do get it twisted. Things are going to get dirty when the Atlanta Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence host some good sexy fun with prizes and more to benefit the group’s charity fund @ Atlanta Eagle, 9 p.m.

Gurlfrandz: Cake Day celebrates a whole year of irreverent off-center drag show featuring the oddest drag bitches in town (sixth photo) @ Mary’s, 11 p.m. It’s going to get super ugly – and really pretty? Stay where you are, punk. It’s XXX with DJ King Atlas.

Cirque du So Gay is headed by the Daniels Family show of kings and queens. Lesbian ladies and bois do it up right on the dance floor, too. This week, it’s an adult circus @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

DJ Joshua D. takes you on a tribal journey during gay Atlanta’s favorite weekly Saturday dance party @ Jungle, 10 p.m. Here’s how they get down. Come early for dinner, drinks and the diverse cast and special guests of Ruby’s Redd Light District: Bitches & Divas, 9 p.m.

Bear Invasion: DJ John LePage returns to takeover the ATL. Burly shirtless men of girth and mirth get their furry goodness soaking wet with dirty dancing (seventh photo). Bigger The Bear in the house for photo opps @ Heretic, 10 p.m. LePage is a big sexy deal, and Bear Invasion is always hot hot hot. Show up early for two-stepping to Old-School Country, 6:30 p.m.

High Energy & Cell Block Sunday. Get to gettin' with DJ Bill Berdeaux, 3 p.m., then the Cell Block drag show with Lateasha Shuntel, Raquell Lord,  Shawnna Brooks, Nicole Paige Brooks and Taejah Thomas @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

Red Carpet Party serves $15 bottomless champagne for Tinsel Town’s big night. Your interpretation of Hollywood Glam could win a prize @ 10th & Piedmont, 7 p.m.
