The long holigay weekend kicks off fast and keeps going hard through Sunday. Long before you Drag Race to victory, choose from parties, cultural arts and other options for your downtime.

Friday, April 14

Easter Weekend Kickoff (top photo). DJ Vicki Powell and crew are busy. Start tonight with Sindri Salad (LA), Mark O’Brien (SF), and all the East Atlanta kids @ Mary’s, 10 p.m.

Sex=Power=Freedom Book Tour makes a stop in Atlanta with sexy underwear designer Andrew Christian and model Austin Waite @ Boy Next Door, 6 p.m.

Castleberry Hill Art Stroll. Walk the downtown neighborhood and its plethora of galleries, including works by gay Atlanta artist Orlando Vargas at No Mas! Hacienda, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“The Legend of Georgia McBride” Closing Weekend. Follow a desperate Elvis impersonator who turns to drag to make ends meet @ Actor’s Express, 8 p.m. Runs through April 16

The Other Show. Come to the unique weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast and special guests that always pack a surprise @ Jungle, 9 p.m., preceded by a RuPaul’s Drag Race watch party, 8 p.m.

Pump. The weekly man-on-man dance party launches your weekend @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

DJ Eric moves your feet @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Fresh Face Friday puts the newest drag glamazons on display. Then get your singles ready for premiere queens in Femme Fatale @ Burkhart’s, 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Celestial Friday. Celeste Holmes hosts the show “where the stars come out” and puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m. 

Resident DJs Scott and Mikey take you deep into the night with $5 Fridays @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Saturday, April 15

Deep South: Honcho. DJ Vicki Powell and her gang of loyalists do Easter Saturday with Ash Lauryn and Robert Ansley. No cameras @ Heretic, 10 p.m. Their last event was cray-cray. The strike again on Sunday at ‘Church’ on Edgewood.

Free Breast Health Screenings. The LGBT Health Initiative hosts this free service @ Rush Center, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Note: All are welcome, but must pre-register by e-mailing [email protected]ealthinitiative.org or calling 404-688-2524 x116.

For The Kid Beer Bust. Join the people who bring you Toy Party for bottomless brews in their yearlong gay party mission to raise funds for Georgia kids @ Joe’s, 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 10 p.m.

Icon: Janet & Michael with Manila Luzon. The RPDR finalist graces the monthly party series that celebrates iconic figures in music. Wear your best Jackson look and dance @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for Fantasy Girls, 9 p.m.

DJ Pat Scott and Atlanta Bucks Bar Night draw a crowd @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Sizzling Startlets and Fever. The opening show is followed by the quintessential drag cast working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. 

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

 

Sunday, April 16

Easter Drag Races. The Armorettes helm their annual day of carnival games and mayhem in the parking lot @ Burkhart’s, 2 p.m. The fun goes all day and into the night as they bring things inside for a special edition of their weekly Armorettes Show, 7:30 p.m. It’s a don’t-miss Every. Single. Year. No ya’ll. Like, since forever and ever, amen.

Easter Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Great Atlanta Egg Contest. Fun and prizes @ Model T, 12 noon – 12 midnight.

Ruby Redd’s Easter Heiffer Review. Campy queens do patio drag with DJs, drink specials and prizes @ Cowtippers, 1 p.m.

Big Hare Games. Ten’s Sunday Funday goes all bonnet block party on you. Games, DJs, big wigs and hats, and  of course, drag queens @ Ten Atlanta, 4 p.m.

Happy Keister! Hang with your Easter peeps @ Friends Neighborhood Bar, 4 p.m.

Sampson’s ‘B.U.T.T.’ Show. The gay comic hits the stage with local LGBT comedians Ian Aber and Julie Osborne. Get ready for ‘Blunt, Unfiltered, Truth Telling’ @ Highland Ballroom, 7 p.m.

Easter Midtown Rouge. First it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast including Raquell Lorde @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

Deeper Love Project 20th Anniversary. The group for local gay men of color celebrates a milestone @ Rush Center, 6:30 p.m.

Easter Sunday Service with DJ Vicki Powell. Special guests Bouffant Bouffant, Ash Lauryn and Chelsea Starr make this patio party with the alternaqueers special @ Sister Louisa’s Church, 8 p.m.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens goes in hard @ Burkhart’s, 10:30 p.m.
