The best gay Halloween things to do in Atlanta

Halloween officially falls on Monday, so gay Atlanta throws dress-up parties all weekend. Get your looks together for a cacophony of costume contests among all your local LGBT events.

Friday, Oct. 28

Bear Witch Project (top photo). DJ Mike Pope spins you right round @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

AGLCC Fourth Friday. Join the LGBT pros of Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce for networking happy hour @ No Mas Cantina, 5:30 p.m.

“King Cobra.” The biographical crime drama about the life and early career of gay adult film star Brent Corrigan opens with a cast that includes Christian Slater, Garrett Clayton and Molly Ringwald @ Plaza Theatre, various showtimes.

“Moonlight.” The critically-acclaimed, gay-themed drama telling the story of a young black man struggling with his identity opens with various showtimes @ Regal Atlantic Station 18, Midtown Art Cinema and AMC Phipps Plaza 14.

Ruck-A-Buck Weekend. The gay Atlanta Bucks Rugby squad opens its annual weekend-long tournament with a meet-and-greet @ Establishment, 8 p.m.

Sisters Nightmare. The gay male nuns of cosmic joy take over the go-go bar for Halloween shenanigans @ BJ Roosters, 8 p.m.

Halloween Other Show. Come to the unique weekly drag cabaret with an eclectic cast and special guests that always pack a surprise @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m

Halloweenie. It’s a big one, and it includes boys, beers, boos and a costume contest @ Mary’s, 10 p.m.

Alphabet Soup. DJ Moose spins @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Deadly Vixens puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars. Costumes encouraged @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Monster Bash turns up the volume on Halloween Weekend with drag, a late-night costume contest and more @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Deadly Divas Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a Halloween Show. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Crush Friday turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Resident DJs Scott and Mikey take you deep into the night with $5 Fridays @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

Foreplay Afterhours keeps you dancing late. Really late @ Tokyo Valentino, 1 a.m. – 5 a.m.


Saturday, Oct. 29

Heaven & Hell (middle photo). DJ Alex Acosta keeps your sexy costume moving to the beat with a $1,000 costume contest @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for Studio 54 with Kat Graham, 9 p.m.

Ruck-A-Buck Tournament. Teams from all over compete with the gay Atlanta Bucks squad as hosts @ Cheney Stadium, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Head over to the Third Half After Party @ Atlanta Eagle, 4 p.m.

Southern Softpaw End of Season Party. Gay fall softball is over, so it’s time for bottomless brews for animal charities @ Atlanta Eagle, 3 p.m.

Gentlemen’s Foundation Beer Bust benefits this group for gay Atlanta men of color @ Joe’s, 3 p.m.

Georgia vs. Florida. Football. Bulldogs. Gators. Gay guys @ Woofs, 3 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during regularly scheduled shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Gay Goonie Groupies Square Dance. Hotlanta Squares hosts this focus on group costumes as they square dance in their new home @ City of Light, 7 p.m.

Sexy & Spooky. One of the two or both are encouraged when you bring your costume to Atlanta’s gay sports bar @ Woofs, 9 p.m. 

Shalloween. Christeene, House of Gunt, Wussy and Legendary Children do their thing for the costume crowd of alternaqueers @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

House of Horrors. DJs Rob Reum and Daryl Cox, plus costume contest fun @ Ten Atlanta, 10 p.m.

Kinked. Halloween as only DJ Pat Scott and crew can do it @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Monster Bash turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons and a costume contest @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m.

Deadly Divas with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a Halloween show. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

Release Your Freak werqs Saturday night with drag and big-money costume contest @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

DJ Sir Mack. When you've Kinked it out at Eagle, keep the night going that much longer @ Tokyo Valentino, 1 a.m. – 5 a.m.

DJ Seth Breezy All Nighter. Bars close, but this place doesn’t. You never stop shaking your ass @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.


Sunday, Oct. 30

Drag Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious (bottom photo) at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do a Halloween-themed Dinner with the Deadly Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Ruck-A-Buck Sunday Brunch. The Atlanta Bucks says goodbye to visiting tournament teams with breakfast buffet, mimosas and more @ Publik Draft House, 11:30 a.m.

Halloween Midtown Rouge. First it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast, all this week with a Halloween theme @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

Sunday Funday wraps your weekend just the way you like it: with all your gays plus DJs Rob Reum and Robert Ansley @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight.

Armorettes Halloween Show. Atlanta’s camp drag crazies against HIV do their weekly good in the gayborhood @ Burkhart’s, 7:30 p.m.

Boo! CherryBomb. Wild Cherry Sucret returns to the weekly stage for “something hip and different,” including surprises each week @ Jungle, 8 p.m.

Halloween Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet and her left-of-center queens @ Burkhart’s, 9:30 p.m. Stick around. It’s the Monster Bash and late-night costume contest, 11 p.m.
