Friday, Oct. 9
Atlanta Pride Kickoff Party. You and a few thousand of your closest friends do cocktail attire, DJ beats and seasonal joy to Pride with the fishes @ Georgia Aquarium, 7 p.m.
Quaint Peche. A totally different kind of queer heads to a different part of downtown for this “Collective Queer Expose” featuring photography by Erin Branch, Patrick Di Rito, Kyle Henderson, Andrew Sisk and Taylor McCormick @ Mammal Gallery, 7 p.m.
Atlanta Rainbow Crosswalks Ribbon Cutting. After tons of talk and tons of private donations, and a little drama for good measure, the Pride-time striping of the city’s gayest intersection becomes a reality. Celebrate @ 10th & Piedmont, 7 p.m.
“Taboo: Sexuality and Identity in Ceramics” features works by three dozen artists exploring the theme @ Signature Gallery, through Oct. 31.
Tybee Pirate Fest. Get out of town. No, really. If you can’t handle Pride or just don’t want to, spirit yourself down to this annual bit of fun @ Tybee Island, Ga. all weekend.
Pride Friday with DJ Brett Henrichsen. Dancing queens hit the floor for a very manly dance party, including an opening set by DJ Mike Pope @ Heretic, 9 p.m. Henrichsen is part of a hunk-filled Pride Weekend.
Heaven Pride Party. Every year, lesbians don wings and halos with a few devils in the mix to dance the night away @ Park Tavern, 9 p.m.
Hot Fruit Pride Party. It’s time to play East Atlanta style with the alternaqueers who know how to move you with DJs Vicki Powell and Ambrosia Salad @ Mary’s, 10 p.m.
DJ Chris Cox and Cazwell. Get ready to rumble on the dance floor with this circuit legend and hot gay rapper in the house @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Cazwell is one hot, hot Pride stud who talked with us ahead of his appearance. Get there early for The Other Show: Pride Edition, 9:30 p.m.
Pride Friday with Esera Tuaolo. The hulking NFL player who came out as gay back in the day and sings like an angel has a new single out. Rub up against his celebrity to kick off your Pride @ Atlatna Eagle, 10 p.m. He’s another of Pride’s hottest hunks and dished with us about being a gay dad, coming out and returning to Atlanta. DJ Moose keeps the beat, and it’s also Hotlanta Gear Pride Night.
“Looking for Normal” Closing Weekend. A religious couple in America’s heartland gets every notion challenged when the husband comes out as transgender. The gay-led Process Theatre produces @ OnStage Atlanta, 8 p.m. Runs through Sunday.
“The Titans.” Art exhibit explores works on paper by some toweringly popular artists. Gay Atlanta artists like Larry Jens Anderson are in the mix @ Kai Lin Art, 7 p.m. Exhibit runs through Oct. 30.
Glitz & Glam Pride Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.
Deadly Pride Vixens drag show puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.
RuPride with Raja puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere “Drag Race” favorites all weekend including Pandora Boxx, Detox and every Atlanta queen from the show @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.
Lesbian Party Girl Pride. Get your girl-on-girl weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the local home of lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.
Chaparral Pride turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Pride All-Nighter. DJ Martin Fry knows that you couldn’t stop dancing and lay down even if you wanted to. And you don’t @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 10
Atlanta Pride. One, two, you know what to do. Midtown’s gayest greenspace and surrounding area is crawling with LGBT love, vendors, stage acts and activities all weekend @ Piedmont Park. While you’re there, check out the Outworlders Gaymer Space, Car & Motorcycle Show with Lambda Car Club Lost Boys and Dykes on Bikes, the Kween on the Green party in the meadow, Queer & Trans Youth Liberation Space, Atlanta Pride Trans March, Campus Pride College Fair, Atlanta Pride Dyke March, and Queer Your Gender Dance Party. You know, just for starters.
DJs Neon the Glowgobear & Daryl Cox. The anthems are spinning, and you are reeling in Pride goodness @ Ten Atlanta, all day.
Pride Disco #Daydrunk. Get away from the maddening crowd with drink specials that either put you to bed early or make you the life of tonight’s party @ Mary’s, 2 p.m. Of course, then you may not remember the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 9 p.m.
Indigo Girls. The local lesbian legends get some fans away from the park and over to a set of songs in the newly minted retail spaces @ City Market, 5 p.m.
Geighties (Gay ‘80s) Party. Everything old is new again with DJs Yvonne Monet and Ree de la Vega. Dancing, 80s outfits and great prizes @ Community Smith, 8 p.m.
Flock of Eagles Pride Party with Boomer Banks. Even before it starts, this is one for the record books. Alterna-queer DJs Vicki Powell, Mark Loque, and Scooter McCreight collide with manbear DJs Nark, Chris Bowen and Pat Scott to rock your head off. Porn star Boomer Banks is in the house, and it’s ArtFag Drag meets leather all night @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.
Pride Saturday with DJ David Knapp. The favorite local gay daddy – literally and figuratively – hits the decks to rock the manly man dance floor @ Heretic, 9 p.m.
Pride Saturday with DJ Tony Moran. The man, the myth, the music slays Atlanta with a set for the ages @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m.
Synergy RuPride turns up the volume on Saturday night and blows your ever-loving mind with glamazons working for your dollars @ Burkhart's, 11 p.m. For Pride, it’s “Drag Race” favorites all weekend including Raja, Pandora Boxx, Detox and every Atlanta queen from the show @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.
Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.
Ladies Pride. Atlanta’s lesbian dance party puts on a show to supplement its weekly womyn ways in a new Midtown location @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.
GlitterBomb Pride werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens and special guests. DJ and video beats plus more cute boys than you can handle @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.
Pride Afterhours with DJ Paulo moves you all the way to sunrise, just steps away from BJs, Heretic and Jungle. Never stop shaking your ass @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m. Paulo joins our stable of sexy Pride Weekend hunks.
Sunday, Oct. 11
Atlanta Pride Parade. This is what’s up. Hundreds of thousands of spectators and more than 300 entrants make for the biggest Pride parade you’ve likely ever seen. Steps off @ Peachtree downtown and winds up to 10th Street and into Piedmont Park, 1 p.m.
HRC Pride Brunch. Eat, drink and be merry directly on the parade route to benefit this national LGBT organization @ Empire State South, 11:30 a.m.
Atlanta Pride. Pour into the park for day two of Midtown’s gayest greenspace crawling with LGBT love, vendors, stage acts and activities. While you’re there, check out the Atlanta Pride Bear Dance, 4 p.m., and the Atlanta Pride signature closing show, the Starlight Cabaret, 7:25 p.m.
Pride Sunday Funday with DJ Kraax. Atlanta knew and loved him as Jay McCracken. Now he returns as his Los Angels Alter Ego to spin you into oblivion @ Ten Atlanta, all day.
“Breaking Through.” The film about LGBT elected officials breaking down barriers in politics includes the most comprehensive set of interviews to date. Now the Atlanta-born-and-bred documentary gets its PBS debut @ GPB, 12 noon. Hit record before you head to the parade, or stream it online for the next month.
Pride Sunday Service. DJ Vicki Powell takes you to “Church.” She keeps up her Pride pace with this set on home turf in the gay-owned but not narrow spaces @ Sister Lousia’s Church of the Living Room & Ping Pong Emporium, 7 p.m.
Pride Bear Invasion. The touring recurring party gets its volume cranked for Pride. DJ Sean Mac and all the hairy hunks you can handle @ Heretic, 9 p.m.
Hydrangea Heath’s Trucker Daddy After Hours. It’s technically Monday when this honky tonk gets going with the titular queen and Lavonia Elberton at the helm. Get up and get on down when the clock strikes Overdo It Time @ Southern Comfort, 12 midnight.
Pride Afterhours with DJ Alyson Calagna moves you all the way to sunrise. Pride is over girl, but you don’t have to stop @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.
