How do you say “Happy Pride!” if you’re a gay rugby player in Atlanta? Two words: Ben Cohen.
The retired rugby stud, who fueled a week-long bromance in May with the Atlanta Bucks Rugby Football Club, is coming back to Atlanta. We expected he’d be back after announcing that Atlanta would be home to his Standup Foundation. But so soon? We’re not quite ready – there’s the haircut to get, the new outfit to buy and those extra crunches at the gym to do.
Ready or not, Cohen lands in Atlanta again during Pride. The Bucks are hosting him for a beer bust fundraiser for the foundation after their Oct. 8 match against the St. Louis Crusaders. For $20, you get beer, food and, if you’re lucky, a chat with the gay-friendly Brit.
The Bucks are very happy to be hosting Ben for a second time this year. Atlanta made the Ben Cohen Acceptance tour earlier this year a huge success and we look forward to hosting him this weekend for our Pride weekend. If the Bucks are lucky, maybe Cohen will warm them up again before the match.
