Atlanta’s size queens just love Jamie Foxx

To say Jamie Foxx unveiled the Full Monty is a bit of an understatement that does his, well, endowment a bit of a disservice. But it’s apparently brought him new gay fans in Atlanta. Size queens, anyway.

imageThe comedian and actor appeared on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday and among the questions tossed at him by host Conan O’Brien was whether a nude photo that surfaced on the Internet this summer was Foxx or fake. It’s of a muscled, well-hung guy standing nude in a bathroom — the sort of photo the gays use on Craigslist and Guys with iPhones.

Foxx admitted the pic is him, which was pretty well verified when his attorneys worked to scrub it from the Internet. Foxx says he took the pic when shooting “Miami Vice,” which hit theaters in 2006. He buffed — and apparently fluffed — up for the flick, and a makeup artist wanted before-and-after pics of the new bod. Somehow the pic leaked.

But then the interview gets a little more interesting. (Cue to 1:55 on the video.) It seems when the photo hit, Foxx came through Atlanta during a Pride celebration. For a comedy stop, he insists. The photo, though, attracted a new demographic to his fan base. (Foxx wasn’t clear on the timing of his Atlanta visit, though he was in town last month around the time of Black Gay Pride.)

image“It was a bad thing and a good thing,” Foxx tells O’Brien. “Women go crazy and I also … I was in Atlanta duing the gay Pride week so that was a little bit of … not backlash. I had a different crowd show up. I have a huge alternative lifestyle … a huge gay following.”

And then he did an over-the-top shout out to his newly-discovered gay fans and stammered on again about “alternative lifestyles.”

GLAAD needs to keep working with this star. Alternative lifestyle: bad. Guys with iPhones pic: Good. Nevertheless, Foxx adores his new fans and we’re in love with all of his hugeness.
