Atlanta’s gay lawyers fete summer [photos]

The legal eagles of Stonewall Bar Association of Georgia were anything but buttoned up at Ansley Above The Park on Friday. Their annual Summer Party welcomed the season and awarded a few scholarships.

Inside and poolside, the LGBT lawyers enjoyed each other’s company as well as drinks, food and the opportunity to swim off the long week and beat the heat. Some undid the ties of their lawyer drag, while others made time to don shorts and swimsuits. All welcomed the weekend with a good time.

The group also took the opportunity to announce its winners of the 2012 Kay Young Scholarships. The honor sends local law students with Stonewall affiliated schools to Lavender Law, the annual National LGBT Stonewall Bar Conference & Career Fair of workshops and seminars, held this year in Washington on Aug. 23-25. The recipients this year are rising second-year law students Brian W. Kaufman at Emory Law School and Andrew C. Wills at University of Georgia.
