Halloween in Gay Atlanta. What’s gay about All Hallow’s Eve? That is, besides you wearing this? Absolutely everything, that's what. Don your gay apparel and get down all weekend at your favorite party spot.

Friday, Oct. 30

MaskQueerAde (top photo). A whopping $1,500 in costume cash and prizes is on the line with Bubba D. Liscous as host @ Heretic, 10 p.m. As always, call Heretic for a good time.

Halloween Yappy Hour. The annual doggie-person costume contest with plenty of seasonal spirits to lube you up benefits For The Kid In All Of Us. Bring your four-legged best @ Piedmont Bark, 5:30 p.m.

Ruck-A-Buck Tournament. The annual gay rugby weekend returns with the Atlanta Bucks at the helm. Kick things off with a meet-and-greet @ Fado Irish Pub, 8 p.m. Keep scrolling for Saturday and Sunday events on and off the pitch.

“Taboo: Sexuality and Identity in Ceramics” Closing Weekend features works by three dozen artists exploring the theme @ Signature Gallery, through Oct. 31.

Halloweenie Costume Contest. The annual way to say, hey, I’m still cool enough to hang with the alternaqueers @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

The Other Show. A unique weekly drag cabaret boasts an eclectic cast that always keeps you guessing @ Jungle, 9:30 p.m.

Deadly Vixens Halloween Blowout. drag show puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars, plus Second Level beats upstairs, this week with a huge-prize costume contest and Halloween go-go boys @ Blake’s, 9 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Halloween Femme Fatale puts the drag glamazons on display each week. Get your singles ready for premiere Atlanta queens @ Burkhart’s, 11 p.m.

Ladies Lounge. Get your lesbian weekend started with a DJ-driven dance party, live performances and scores of women in the new Midtown home of Atlanta lesbian nightlife @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Chaparral Night turns up the volume on its weekly gay Latin party with stage shows and dancing into the wee hours @ Club Rush, 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.


Saturday, Oct. 31

Under the Big Top: Freaks & Oddities (middle photo). DJ Alex Acosta plays ring-leader to a circus theme and puts the costumes and dancing queens to a beat @ Jungle, 10:30 p.m. Get there early for the Fantasy Girls Nightmare on Faulkner show, 9 p.m. Jungle always goes all out for Halloween.

Fall Softball. The pitchers and catchers of Southern Softpaw play in their weekly matchups @ Southside Park, 10 a.m.

Ruck-A-Buck Tournament. The annual gay rugby weekend returns with the Atlanta Bucks at the helm. Tournament play today @ Harmony Grove Soccer Complex, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Third Half Social @ Eagle, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Halloween Hijinks @ Ten, 10:30 p.m. Keep scrolling for Sunday events.

“The Thrush & the Woodpecker.” A suspenseful mystery thriller by local gay playwright Steve Yockey premieres under lesbian director Melissa Foulger @ Actor’s Express, 8 p.m. Starting Nov. 6, it runs in rep with Yockey’s “Blackberry Winter” then both run through Nov. 22.

Gentlemen’s Ball. The annual black-tie affair for gay men of color tuxes down and masks up with special guests Cynthia Bailey and Karamo Brown @ Atlanta Marriott Marquis, 6 p.m.

Maison de la Demence. The House of Dementia will get ya with costume cotest and DJ beats @ Ten, all night.

Night of the Zomboys. The strippers are masked for the big night, but their goods are still showing @ BJ Roosters, 10 p.m. Things get crazy here.

Scary-oke with Chelsea Daggers. Calling all scream queens to one of the most innovative costume contests in town. The annual karaoke of doom continues as well @ Mary’s, 10 p.m.

ShalloWeen with Katya. The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” favorite plays special guest to Lavonia Elberton’s emcee, scads of Legendary Children queens, an art installation, photo booth, and your best mess for the costume contest @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

Nightmare on Ponce: Dark Harvest. A haunted house of thrills and chills transforms your usual leather-levi experience with the Panter L/L crew and DJ Eric @ Eagle, 10 p.m. These guys pull out all the stops.

Horror Hotel. It’s an Atlanta Horror Story with dinner and a drag show with the queens @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

Burning Down the House. Halloween is on fire for your costumes with the glamazons @ Burkhart’s, 10 p.m. They have fun.

Halloween Ladies Night. Atlanta’s lesbian dance party puts on a show to supplement its weekly womyn ways in a new Midtown location @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.

Halloween GlitterBomb werqs Saturday night with a drag show hosted by Edie Cheezburger, a cast of premiere queens, special guests, and one of the biggest costume parties in town @ Blake’s, 10 p.m. Blake’s doesn't play around when it comes to costumes.

DJ Kerry Hall Halloween All Nighter (bottom photo) moves you all the way to sunrise, just steps away from BJs, Heretic and Jungle. Saturday never really ends @ Xion, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.


Sunday, Nov. 1

Ruck-A-Buck Recovery Brunch. The annual gay rugby weekend returns with the Atlanta Bucks at the helm. Wrap things up @ Joe’s on Juniper, 11:30 a.m.

Drag Gospel Brunch presents the Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday Funday. DJs Rob Reum and Robert Ansley give you the inside-outside weekend closing party that you so deeply desire @ Ten Atlanta, 5 p.m. – midnight.

High Energy & Cell Block Sunday. Get to gettin' with DJ Bill Berdeaux, 3 p.m., then the Cell Block drag show with Lateasha Shuntel, Raquell Lord, Shawnna Brooks, Nicole Paige Brooks and Taejah Thomas @ Blake's, 8 p.m.

The Armorettes. Those local camp crazies throw down their weekly show for tips against HIV/AIDS in Atlanta @ Hideaway, 8 p.m. This week, it’s Night of the Walking Drag.

Tossed Salad. The magic and madness masterminded by Brigitte Bidet, her left-of-center queens, and DJ King Atlas rock this weekly drag show and dance party @ Burkhart’s, 9 p.m.
