Atlanta Pride rolls out Pride weekend nightlife

imageThe Atlanta Pride festival is never just a weekend in the park. Nightlife makes sure there is no rest for the weary. In addition to parties all over town, the official lineup includes three huge throwdowns this year.

Through partnerships with Jungle Club for an opening night afterparty, party promoter Chris Coleman for a closing night with DJ Manny Lehman (photo), plus Curve magazine and Pandora Events for a gigantic women’s party, the Atlanta Pride Committee ups the ante for 2010. The Pride festival is scheduled for Oct. 9-10.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with some of the most talented club entertainment promoters in the city,” JP Sheffield, executive director of Pride, says in an announcement Thursday laying out the weekend’s nightlife.

“Adding an after party to the Friday night lineup and an official closing party to Sunday helps round out the weekend, as well as provide us with the opportunity to partner with local businesses,” Sheffield adds.

Fiesta Pride and Closing Party are both new for 2010. The Peach Party returns. Start making plans and don’t forget that “Idol” finalist Kimberley Locke performs Oct. 9.
