Thursday, April 23

Jenna Gets an Abortion (top photo) LGBTQ Atlanta’s own Jonothon Mitchell ("Pageant Material") directs and co-writes this tale inspired by the 2019 anti-abortion bill passed in Georgia. Pink carpet, world premiere screening and cast-crew Q&A @ YouTube Live, 8 p.m. Watch the trailer.

Georgia Equality Lonely Cocktails Club. Every Thursday, pour yourself a drink and join the discussion of the statewide LGBTQ rights org’s ongoing work. Topics like census, self-care, elections, mutual aid and human connection are on the docket @ Facebook Live, 5:30 p.m.

Drive-By Governor Protest. Safe-Distance react against Brian Kemp’s decision to re-open some businesses in our state by getting in your car and making some noise @ Georgia Governor’s Mansion, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Cooking. As they say at Checkers, ya gotta eat. By now, you’ve exhausted your kitchen repertoire, so fire up the stove and expand your horizons. AQUAA At Home Together. Terracotta Sugarbaker hosts this Atlanta Queer Arts Alliance showcase that has been a long time coming. Look for performances, readings, musical numbers and film shorts like “The One You Never Forget” (photo) from the collaborative forces of Voices of Note, Atlanta Philharmonic OrchestraAtlanta Freedom BandsOut Front Theatre Company and Out on Film @ Facebook Live, 7 p.m., on any of their organization FB Pages (click their name, then go to “videos). Secret Atlanta. Take a virtual tour with writer Jonah McDonald complementing his book guide to the “weird, wonderful and obscure” local sites. Charis Books & More hosts @ Crowdcast, 4 p.m.

Queer Instagram Comedy Festival. Catch two dozen LGBTQ comics, including some from Atlanta @ Instagram, 5 p.m. - 11 p.m. Meet 6 queer comics making comedy lemonade out of quarantine lemons.

Georgia Equality Virtual Town Hall. The statewide LGBTQ rights group continues its online event series with Teresa Tomlinson, a candidate for U.S. Senate, taking your questions, 6 p.m. Read her essay on LGBTQ rights, and find all of GE’s endorsements here.
