This week, our valued sponsors are Brushstrokes, Las Margaritas, Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse, Jock Boy Locker, “Scrooge in Rouge,” Boy Next Door, Alex Wan for City Council District 6 and Mary Norwood for Mayor.
Brushstrokes was established in 1989 and today includes more than 4,200 square feet of retail space in Atlanta. Brushstrokes, our flagship store, stocks a full range of greeting cards, T-shirts, books, music, video, giftware, and gay Pride merchandise. Capulets/Brushstrokes Pleasures is for adults only. It stocks a full line of gay erotica magazines, videos, adult toys, personal lubricants, condoms, leather and fetish goods.
Las Margaritas provides a fusion of Latin cultures to create an atmosphere of fun, family and hospitality at its Cheshire Bridge Road restaurant. Authentic Margaritas, Mojitos, Brazilian Caipirnhas and Latin beers accentuate the Fiesta feeling.
Outwrite Bookstore & Coffeehouse is an independent bookstore and coffeehouse located in Midtown Atlanta. Outwrite opened in 1993 to serve Atlanta’s LGBT community. Growing quickly to become the largest gay landmark in the South, Outwrite has greatly expanded its clientele, products and services to reflect the growing and diversifying Midtown community while staying true to its LGBT roots.
Jock Boy Locker offers a great selection of men’s underwear, men’s swimwear, athletic apparel and men’s jewelry. The online retail outlet carries designer men’s underwear and swimwear from brands such as C-IN2, Ed Hardy, Ginch Gonch, Go Softwear, HEswimwear, Joe Snyder, N2N Bodywear, Pistol Pete and Timoteo Underwear. JockBoyLocker brings you men’s underwear styles ranging from briefs, boxer briefs, thongs, jockstraps and lowrise briefs.
“Scrooge in Rouge” from Reaction Productions opens Dec. 3 at 14th Street Playhouse. The clever pleasures of the production are abundant, varied, risqué and virtually non-stop. It is uproarious entertainment; a brilliantly constructed funhouse that works on multiple levels and provides holiday theater-goers with something to cheer about. This three-actor show presents a well-delineated cast of over 20 characters between them.
Boy Next Door will gladly get you tucked into some sassy new duds, something the Piedmont Road retail outpost has been doing since 1980. There’s always something new among their underwear and swimwear selections, clothes to fit that gym-toned form and stylish shoes. The noticeable changing area provides some fun views, too.
Alex Wan for City Council District 6. Wan is a business and community leader seeking the Atlanta City Council District 6 seat. He is an engineer by training with hands-on business, management and finance experience. If elected, Wan would become the first openly gay man and first Asian-American on the City Council.
Mary Norwood for Mayor. Norwood is a two-term City Council member seeking the mayor’s office. Through more than a decade of community activism, Norwood has developed expertise in environmental, preservation, zoning, traffic, public safety, housing and homeless issues.
Additionally, thanks to the following partners: Pocket Rocket, Actor’s Express and “Fair Use,” 7th Annual Toy Party & Silent Auction, Two Roads Resources, New Georgia Claywork, Lab Monkey Design and Atlanta Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
