Speedo-clad Santas stripped down to bare their Christmas best on Saturday as part of the 4th Annual Atlanta Santa Speedo Run, a 1.5-mile parade of abs, flesh and more through Midtown.
About 200 people took part in this year’s rendition of the fun run, which kicked off at Hudson Grille on Peachtree before hitting West Peachtree and circling back around to the restaurant.
Organizers hoped to bring in about $150,000 to benefit Cure Childhood Cancer. But despite a balmy afternoon on Saturday, attendance dipped and so did the cash. About $90,000 was raised. The event started in 2009 with 170 people raising eyebrows and $42,000 on Highland Avenue and grew into an all-out spectacle of more than 250 runners raising $128,000 for charity by the third Run in 2011.
But the hunk-filled mass of flesh, a mix of gays who have embraced and organized the event and charity-minded straight hotties, still seemed inspired. Maybe they took our advice on how to serve the best Santa with their Speedo.
