About three-dozen people took part in the Great Nationwide Kiss-In Atlanta on Saturday, one of more than 40 similar events that unfolded across the country to protest the recent arrests of a gay couple who kissed in a public plaza near the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City.
Participants kissed for several minutes near the park’s Visitors Center during the event organized by Alex Oxford (photo right), a high school student from Cobb County.
An event in Athens also drew about three-dozen people.
