The annual Pet Cotillion for Atlanta’s Pets Are Loving Support went to the dogs on Sunday, with 17 four-legged heart-tuggers vying to become this year’s spokespet and raise money for the organization.
PALS is the venerable gay-favorite organization that helps critically ill people keep and care for their pets. Contestants and their owners had plenty to enjoy during the event at Piedmont Bark, and plenty on the line. Besides being named spokespet, the winner’s parents won tickets to Madonna. No wonder the voting, each for a dollar toward PALS, was ferocious.
After an afternoon of complementary cocktails, showing off on the runway, hot models and light bites for all, Kevin Bryant’s dog Arrow – so named because he was shot with an arrow and rescued last year – was crowned top dog. Besides the title and a one-year “modeling contract” for PALS, he gets 30 days of free daycare at Piedmont Bark. First runner up Noodle won 10 days of doggie daycare and a gift basket of treats.
