Miss Sophia returning to air on LGBTQ Atlanta radio station

Popular Atlanta drag queen Miss Sophia is making her return to radio three months after being dropped as a cast member from V-103’s popular “Frank & Wanda in the Morning” show.

Miss Sophia (top photo) will take over the weekday afternoon drive shift on WERUradio (pronounced “we are you radio”), an Atlanta-based online station geared toward LGBTQ listeners.

“I am definitely excited about it because I get to dabble in entertainment and sports — which is another one of my passions — and community-involved issues and politics and just life in general,” she told Project Q Atlanta. “You get to hear all of what makes Miss Sophia Miss Sophia. And I get to represent my gay community.”

She’s working out a start date with WERUradio programming director George “Say” Daigle, who said he was “elated and honored” to bring her aboard.

“I’ve been a fan of Miss Sophia for over 15 years,” he said. “Sophia’s comedic timing is effortless. Her banter and synergy with her audience is phenomenal. She is a lauded personality across every genre.”

V-103 dropped her and “Frank & Wanda Morning Show” co-host Wanda Smith in January. Miss Sophia started a YouTube show in February that she said is a longer version of her popular Girl Talk segment from V-103. She’s also been on a comedy tour with TS Madison and Funky Dineva.

Miss Sophia said she’s looking forward to the platform that WERUradio provides.

“It’s my show and I get to call the shots now,” she said.
