Atlanta Pride wants you thinking October, and to make sure you do, it’s putting bumba-dum-dum in your booty. That’s right. Fireball singer Meghan Trainor will make you and all of Piedmont Park “All About That Bass” on Pride Saturday.

Alert your inner pink pop princess. Trainor is the first entertainer announced for the 2014 festival, set for Oct. 11-12. She will take the Coca-Cola stage on Oct. 11 in a set led by her body-proud anthem (video above), Pride Director Buck Cooke says in a press release.

“Meghan is certainly a rising star and 'All About That Bass' is a great song with a fun video and a positive message,” Cook says in the statement.” Being comfortable in your body is a great lesson for everyone to learn, but I feel it is an especially powerful lesson in the LGBTQ community. I love it when we are able to feature artists as they are up-and-coming so that when they make it big, people can turn to their friends and say, 'I saw them at Atlanta Pride!'”

Of course, the singer is just the tip of Pride’s iceberg on two stages over the whole weekend. Expect a snowball-effect of entertainer announcements as we roll toward Pride. Enjoy her signature video above, and let Atlanta Pride tout the appearance even further in its full release.

2014 ATLANTA MEGHAN TRAINOR PERFORMANCE ANNOUNCED

Atlanta, Georgia. – The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) is pleased to announce that hot new “All About That Bass” artist, Meghan Trainor, will be performing at the 2014 Atlanta Pride Festival! The performance is sponsored by Power 96.1.

Atlanta Pride Committee Executive Director, Buck Cooke, said of the announcement, “Meghan is certainly a rising star and 'All About That Bass' is a great song with a fun video and a positive message,” Cook says in the statement.” Being comfortable in your body is a great lesson for everyone to learn, but I feel it is an especially powerful lesson in the LGBTQ community. Trainer is a Massachusetts born award-winning artist, now based in Nashville, TN. She is currently working on her upcoming debut album with the likes of Kevin Kadish (Grammy-award winning producer/songwriter who has worked with the likes of Miley Cyrus and Jazon Mraz) to infuse hook-minded songcraft with an infectious sense of fun on this first offering. If “All About That Bass” is any indication of what the rest of the album is like, Atlanta Pride attendees are sure to be treated to hip-swinging, hand-clapping, instant smashes that will have everyone singing along in no time!

Trainer’s performance at the event is sponsored by Power 96.1. She is scheduled to perform on the Coca-Cola Stage on Saturday, October 11. For detailed show times, download the Atlanta Pride Mobile Application available for iPhone and Android users and visit atlantapride.org for the most up-to-date details on all of our performers. Atlanta Pride will also release additional talent announcements over the next few weeks and the full schedule and line-up will be published later in September.
