Out state Rep. Sam Park drew a slew of political allies and supporters for a fundraiser in Midtown on Wednesday night.
Those in attendance included LGBTQ state Reps. Park Cannon and Renitta Shannon, LGBTQ Doraville City Councilmembers Stephe Koontz and Joseph Geierman and out state House District 80 candidate Matthew Wilson.
Park (top photo, second from left), the first-ever gay man elected to the Georgia Legislature, faces Republican former state Rep. Valerie Clark this November in a rematch of the 2016 contest. As of the last filing period ending March 31, Park had raised $93,000 with $17,000 left on hand, while Clark had raised $145,000 with $53,000 left on hand.
