Those gay softball jocks can't sit still for long. So the Southern Softpaw League celebrated Opening Day on Saturday to kick off a season that stretches into November.
Opening Day included a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Atlanta City Councilmember and gay brunch lover Mary Norwood, the national anthem by Johnny Howard and a full slate of games across the four fields at Southside Park. SSL joined forces with Hotlanta Softball for the more relaxed fall ball season.
Pre-season fun included a host of cocktail-infused registration events, including a mid-August party at Frogs Cantina. And because it's softball, when the on-the-field action ended, the fun shifted to a beer bust at Mary's.
