The men of Atlanta’s gay fall softball league know what time it is. Taking a cue from their summertime brethren, Southern Softpaw League makes sure that when game time is done, all clocks read beer-thirty.
And when much of the gAy-TL is doing Halloween, it’s also time to welcome dry runs on costumes. Throw in the requisite $10 bottomless beer, sweeten the pot with all-you-can-handle beer and Jell-O shots, and it’s a party. That was the scene on Saturday inside and out at Joe’s on Juniper, which is always all up in gay softball’s jock. And local gay politics.
Saturday’s post-game revelry was hosted by the Honey Badgers team, which also raffled off prizes and awarded best costumes. The money raised at Southern Softpaw's weekly post-games beer busts goes to the league’s animal charities. SSL’s fall season continues on Saturdays through Nov. 9.
