Gay Atlanta's eye-rolling "American Idol" contestant barely survived a "Destiny's Child" remake on Thursday, sneaking into the next round thanks to the good graces of Harry Connick, Jr.

The performance by Emmanuel Zidor's group suffered from poor song choice, stiff choreography and vocals that didn't impress. Yet Connick helped save Zidor from returning home to Atlanta and his day job as a ramp worker at Delta. So gay Atlatna's best hope continues on.

"On that stage right now, there is one person who comes closest to having that [total] package. I did not really see it -- this was terrible. But there's potential and that potential is in Emmanuel," Connick says after the group's performance (above).
