As if shooting up the Atlanta salon of gay celebrity stylist Derek J wasn’t dramatic enough, stylist with a gun Corwin Pledger eluded capture by dressing in drag. Until Tuesday.
That’s when Pledger surrendered to Atlanta police, nearly two weeks after he allegedly confronted Derek J—one of the gay sidekicks on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”—in his J Spot Salon in Buckhead. Pledger was unhappy that unsatisfied client Neffe Pugh went to Derek J to fix her bad hair job from Pledger.
So Pledger allegedly brandished a gun, threatened Derek J and his co-owner, shot into the floor and fled.
But dressing in drag to escape capture can wear a girl out. So Pledger quietly surrendered Tuesday morning at the Fulton County Jail. It’s a place not unfamiliar to him. In 2007, he was arrested on forgery and theft by taking charges and booked into the jail.
As for Derek J, he’s not letting this episode of bad hair gone even worse slow him down. He’s on a week-long cruise to Jamaica before heading to New York for some Seduction.
