An estimated contingent of 3,000 representing from around the LGBT nation in Atlanta for the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force’s 25th annual Creating Change conference wrapped things up Sunday with star power and lots of community love.

A diverse bunch of local grassroots queers mixed with the hundreds of out-of-towners who stuck around for the grand finale brunch at Hilton Atlanta downtown. The stage welcomed LGBT legends and gay allies who moved some to tears and most to wild cheers. Comic Kate Clinton, singer Frenchie Davis, groundbreaking retired bishop Gene Robinson and more put a cherry on top of four days of plenaries, workshops, parties and panels.

The conference that started at the big gay “Hey, y’all” welcome party from gay Atlanta, gasped at anti-gay would-be tire slashers, and climaxed with a cautiously optimistic rally cry from NGLTF’s director, wrapped things up in kumbaya high spirits indeed.
