Drag babies, drag mamas and the emerging next generation of stars in gay Atlanta’s omnipresent drag scene garnered international attention during the “Legendary Children” photography exhibit. On Saturday, they got the red carpet treatment at an unforgettable closing reception and show.
LGBT Atlanta and a ton of other art lovers descended on gallery1526 to bid farewell to the exhibit. Most of the shutterbugs who caused all that censorship commotion were in attendance, and so was a cast of local favorite performers, including “Legendary” photo models like Violet Chachki (top photo).
Nicole Paige Brooks played host, performing herself and introducing numbers more risqué than the cast usually does and far more edgy than Atlanta is used to being served. Refreshing.
