The best queer things to do in Atlanta this weekend

On years when The Day falls during the week, LGBTQ Atlanta does Halloween Weekend twice. Get into some booscary, and otherwise, events on the Queer Agenda calendar.

Friday, Oct. 25

Shalloween (top photo). The annual Wussy party gets Dragula’s Boulet Brothers as hosts this year @ Heretic, 9 p.m. 

Fourth Friday. Out Georgia Business Alliance puts its business heads together for happy hour @ BB&T, 5:30 p.m.

La Cage aux Folles. The gay standard that led to mainstream movies and multiple remakes like “The Bird Cage” gets the local queer troupe treatment @ Out Front Theatre, 8 p.m. Runs through Nov. 9. 

The Other Show. Edie Cheezburger, Jaye Lish and the cast bring their brand of drag to their new home @ Midtown Moon, 9 p.m. 

Hallo-weenie. The annual dance party and costume contest, this year with Chelsea Daggers @ Mary’s, 9 p.m.

Wrong Turn Halloween. DJ Kerry Hall and Twee helm this costume dance party @ BJ Roosters, 9 p.m. 

Cruise Control: Halloween Edition. DJ Mister Richard kicks off the weekend @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m.

Midtown Halloween Block Party. Midtown's lesbian club gets in on a shared neighbors party, complete with shot, drink and food specials, a midnight costume contest and more with Tiki Tango and Foxtrot. You can too @ My Sister’s Room, 7 p.m.

Celestial Friday with Celeste Holmes puts the grrls on display for your entertainment and your dollars. Don’t forget Second Level beats upstairs @ Blake’s, 11 p.m.

Glitz & Glam Dinner Theater. Charlie Brown, the undisputed Bitch of the South and her gurlz entertain with dinner and a show amid the fancy theater experience of Atlanta’s premiere drag restaurant and bar. Make Reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m.

Fresh Fish Friday & Moonlight Cabaret. The new faces of Fresh Fish drag show wrap your week, then the drag eleganza of Moonlight Cabaret starts the weekend @ Midtown Moon, 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

 

Saturday, Oct. 26

Heretic Halloween (middle photo). DJ Mike Pope pumps beats, and Bubba D hosts a $1500 costume contest @ Heretic, 10 p.m.

NFFLA Flag Football. The gay football jocks of National Flag Football League of Atlanta start playing Fall Ball for keeps @ Silverbacks Park, 9 a.m. Follow the crowd immediately after the games for OverTime drinking and trash talking, 12:30 p.m.

#Daydrunk. Drink specials put you to bed early or make you the life of the party as the sun drops @ Mary’s, 2:30 p.m. Do it, and you may not remember what you did during the regularly scheduled shenanigans, 9 p.m.

Glitz & Glam with Charlie Brown. The self-titled Bitch of the South and her girls entertain with dinner and a show in the theater experience of Atlanta’s drag restaurant and bar. Make reservations @ Lips Atlanta, 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and the Taboo Show at 11:30 p.m. 

Hocus Pocus Party. Calico Deville’s costume costume with prizes and DJ Hellboy @ Hideaway, 9 p.m. 

Party Like A Rock Star. Hotlanta Squares hosts its LGBTQ square dance with a rock-star costume theme @ Lutheran Church of the Messiah, 7 p.m.

Ruby’s Redd Light District & Moonlight Cabaret. Queens on the scene @ Midtown Moon, 8 p.m. and 11p.m.

Halloween Party from Hell. Shi, Domino Presley, Sabrine and Sheena Casadine perform, DJs Wulf andAmethyst spin, and you are up for the $1,000 costume contest @ My Sister's Room, 9 p.m.

DJ Moose leaves you breathless @ Atlanta Eagle, 10 p.m. 

Midtown Saturday Night lays beats on both decks with you in the spotlight @ Ten, 10 p.m

Halloqueer. Southern Fried Queer Pride puts its spin on the holiday @ The Pinhook, 10 p.m.

Pop! Popup drag and Popup men werqs Saturday night into a frenzy @ Blake’s, 10 p.m.

Xion Afterhours. DJ Morabito move you ‘til sunrise @ BJ Roosters, 3 a.m. – 7 a.m.

 

Sunday, Oct. 27

Misc Edgewood (bottom photo). Watch “kings, queens and in betweens” in a seven-week elimination competition for the title @ Noni’s, 10:30 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 10

Super-Sized Sunday. First, it’s High Energy and DJ Bill Berdeaux, 1 p.m., then the legendary Sunday drag show kicks off with an all-star cast @ Blake's, 8:30 p.m.

Sporty Sunday Funday. Games and matches on screen, plus all the guys to watch them with @ Woofs, 12 noon.

Drag Brunch Theatre. The Sisters of Sequins with Bubba D. Licious at the wheel while you eat @ Lips, 12:30 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. Or sleep in and do Dinner with the Divas, 6:30 p.m.

Heifer Review. Ruby Redd corrals the queens on the patio, this week with the bonus of being HSL’s Extra Inning Beer Bust @ Joe’s on Juniper, 1 p.m. 

Drag Me to Brunch. Good grub and cool queens serve Sunday vibes @ My Sister’s Room, 2 p.m.

Revival. Gospel Brunch has a whole new look, benefiting Rainbow House @ Midtown Moon, 3 p.m.

Sunday Funday. The weekly tradition of outdoor dudes, DJs, drinks and sometimes drag @ Ten, 4 p.m.

Fireball Costume Contest. Everyone who dresses up gets a prize and someone will win $100 @ Hideaway, 6 p.m.

Hey Zombae. Come in costume and get in free @ Bulldogs, all day today and each day through Thursday Oct. 31.

Armorettes: Halloween. The camp drag crazies with the hearts of gold againstAIDS are in their 41st year of weekly shows @ Midtown Moon, 8 p.m.

Queer AF. Drew Friday hosts this raucous drag and variety show @ My Sister’s Room, 9 p.m.
