The pitchers and catchers of Atlanta’s Southern Softpaw League played their last balls of the gay fall softball season on Saturday. True to form when the games were done, all that remained to do were the benefit checks and a beer bust.
The SSL jocks closed the season with beer and boys, just as they did to open the fundraising season for Animal Charities of Atlanta. And just like they did throughout the season, including for a fun Halloween game day.
And there was plenty to celebrate. The Nemesis team took the Super Competitive trophy, the Twisters won the Competitive Fun division, and the Heretic Havoc slid into home for the Just Fun team win. The victors were celebrated, and some $3,000 was donated by the SSL teams to local animals in need.
