Gay Atlanta's biggest event of the year is less than a month away. On Thursday, Pride finally let loose the names of its headline entertainers, and there’s a big-name act for LGBT generations old and new.
Every gay who’s any gay has danced to “We are Family,” and iconic group Sister Sledge (top right photo) is set to bring it to Piedmont Park during the Oct. 10-12 festival. They'll have us all making sure we’ve “got all my sisters with me” for the Saturday evening performance.
Also on tap are radio hitmakers “A Great Big World,” who are not only guaranteed to repeat the line “Say Something I’m Giving Up On You” over and over again, but to also perform their most recent hit, the gay-inclusive “Hold Each Other” featuring Futuristic (video above). The love song features the gay member of the duo using the masculine pronoun "he," and the straight member using “she.”
Local favorites like Michel Jons and Maria Gabriella Band are also on tap for the main stage and add to Pride’s slate announced last week for all the acts on the smaller Bud Light stage. It’s a lineup that the Pride people are pleased to present, says executive director Jamie Fergerson.
“We are proud to offer such an impressive line up for the 2015 Coca-Cola Stage,” Fergerson says in a prepared statement. “It is exciting to be able to bring such high quality and diverse entertainment to the festival; and to be able to do so with it being absolutely free to attendees is a great testament to our community and corporate support alike.”

ATLANTA PRIDE ANNOUNCES 2015 COCA-COLA MAIN STAGE LINE UP
Atlanta, Georgia. – The Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) announced the details today for the lineup of their Coca-Cola Main Stage during the 2015 Atlanta Pride Festival.
Festivalgoers will be treated to a high-energy line up that will have the stage pumping with dynamic performances all weekend long! From perennial favorite, the Michel Jons Band, who will liven up the park immediately following the parade on Sunday, to the iconic dance songs of Sister Sledge; and from red-hot R. City- who are sure to perform their monster hit, “Locked Away” (featuring Maroon 5’s Adam Levine) to chart-topping duo, A Great Big World, following their 2014 album, “Is There Anybody Out There?” featuring the power ballad with Christina Aguilera, “Say Something,” to Rachel Platten with her uplifting anthem, “Fight Song;” the 2015 Coca-Cola stage will have everyone dancing and singing along throughout the entire festival weekend!
APC Executive Director, Jamie Fergerson, said of the schedule, “We are proud to offer such an impressive line up for the 2015 Coca-Cola Stage. It is exciting to be able to bring such high quality and diverse entertainment to the festival; and to be able to do so with it being absolutely free to attendees is a great testament to our community and corporate support alike. While many other large Pride celebrations have moved to ticketing portions of their festival, Atlanta Pride is committed to keeping access to the festival and our entertainment free of charge.”
Fergerson added, “Of course we are also excited to continue the tradition of closing out the festival with the beloved Starlight Cabaret. After a weekend of great performances from artists well known and nationally recognized, there’s no better way to top that off than with our local community stepping up with talented and entertaining drag performances!”
The Coca-Cola Stage is located at the top of the Meadow at 10th St. near the Charles Allen Gate in Piedmont Park.
